Funny they throw the Mustang into the article, like comparing apples and oranges. 🤔
I guess they did it as a direct contrast? Not too sure what the reasoning was for that.

None... but it pays well.
Wow, the 2025 Wrangler could be as rare as a 2019!

I think after seeing the article, it would be cool to swap the front with a mustang. They did a cool front comparison that I am sure Foose will dig making it happen.

Actually they partially explained the sales reasoning. Dodge dead, Camaro dead, no Mustang competition. Ford is taking advantage and raising 25 V8 Mustang prices $2,600 to $3,645…… Eco Boost prices remain the same. Ford Won.
Meanwhile Wrangler now has Bronco competition. Yet Stella hasn’t learned, diesel discontinued, V8 on Hospice care with a Last-Last Call, if you can afford it. Ford releases factory tunes- 2.3 - 330 HP, 385 lb ft. How does the Wrangler 4cyl compare ? 3.0– 455 HP, 536 lb ft, not a misprint. Compare to the Wrangler 6 ? 2.7 tune not seen but pre tune 330 HP, 415 lb ft. Again- the Wrangler 6 ?
history may not repeat itself, but it sure does rhyme.

I think Jeep and the Wrangler deserve all the market punishment they get. They simply took us (the customers) all for granted. They stopped innovating and simply jacked up prices, while customer service became abysmal - I have corrosion on my hood and no dealer wants to do anything about, after Jeep Cares sent me around to 3 different ones to waste my time

The Bronco is available with 37s and a Dana 50 rear axle from the factory. The Bronco let's you spec 35s and front/rear lockers on any model. Toyota/Lexus have launched not one, not two, not three, but FOUR brand new body on frame with SRA SUVs in the past year - Sequoya, GX550, Land Cruiser, 4Runner.

I want to get a new Wrangler in 2025 or 2026 the latest. But unless it comes with 37s and Dana50s, I don't see any benefit vs my 2021 JLUR. And unless I can order it with a simple, modern gasoline engine 2.0T or 3.0T, I'm not interested. The craziness of always disappearing powertrain options and the massive push of 4Xe (that is all that is available on dealers without a special order in my and 13 other states) it infuriating.

I hope it get's bad enough that Jeep realizes they need to give us more features and a better price to earn our business.

Probably because vehicles like the mustang usually don't sell very well compared to something as wide spread as a wrangler. For a long time the wrangler (and other jeeps) quite literally bankrolled FCA. With out quality slipping and prices out of control our once massive sales performance has been tumbling. It's a comparison of how most vehicles are staying steady or increasing in sales yet our products are seeing 20%+ decreases

I think the cookie is starting to crumble though, it seems corporate is starting to realize they're in trouble

I'll agree, the prices are out of control. I bought a Rubicon in 22, and a Willys for the wife in 23 they cost the same or pretty close. They lost sight of the ball.

Its because the vast majority of people buying Wranglers are buying them for the same reasons that most people buy Mustangs.

Call me crazy but this does make me wonder...if maybe next year or the year after will be a great year for Jeep enthusiasts.

Jeep seems to be suffering horribly right now and the high prices combined with some of the constant issues make it not unreasonable but really impossible for some to get a Wrangler now a days.

Seems like Jeep will be forced to make some adjustments that might benefit the consumer, whether it's making more packages standard, keeping price increases at a minimum, or offering better paint options or packages again.

OK...

So Jeep sales are down, Mustang sales are up.

How about some figures on Bronco sales, since that would be relevant?

The low end price of a 2024 JL listed at $33,890 by Car & Driver. The low end price of a 2025 Ford Mustang came in at $33,515 so it’s safe to suspect the similar pricing is why they’re using the comparison to throw shade on Jeep.

Of course, one could spin it the other way using the same irrelevance and say Stellantis is doing great since they’re sold more Jeeps in 2024 than Jayco sold travel trailers…..
