Yes. I test drove a 4Xe years ago. The salesman suggested I mash the throttle to the floor; that didn't end well. The vehicle hesitated for several seconds while it decided what to do; then the 2.0T went screaming to the top of its lungs.

It was a total turnoff. I ended turning around, driving back to the dealership, getting out of the 4Xe and driving straight home. Besides, that is not how I normally drive Jeeps.

Two things that have me nervous:
  1. I continue to read posts from 4Xe owners having all sorts of electrical issues, and dealers seem unable to fix them in a timely matter
  2. My local Jeep dealer is worthless. I am looking to buy from a dealer in Seattle, 100 miles away. I don't even want to think what a nightmare it would be having to drive 100 miles multiple times to have the same thing fixed. Even worse, if the Jeep needs to be towed, Roadside Assistance would simply drop it off at the nearest Jeep dealer, which is simply atrocious
Then... why are you haunting the forum? You took a 4Xe for a test drive.... but never owned one. Respectfully submitted.... it appears like you are the ultimate keyboard warrior with nothing but hate and discontent. You know not of what you speak. Shame on you....

Consumer Report states

Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), which have both a battery for short-range electric driving and an internal combustion engine for long-range driving, are the least reliable category—146 percent more problems than conventional cars.

If you're using Consumer Reports reliability to decide which type of vehicle to buy, their reliability score for the 4Runner is more than 200% higher than their reliability score for the Wrangler and their reliability score for the PHEV Rav4 is almost 100% higher than their highest reliability score for any Jeep model.

Consumer Reports saw the Wrangler 4xe is the best selling PHEV, and predictably had to cook up one of their cockeyed ?

Their reliability includes radios, not exactly reliable analysis.

What does radio have to do with propulsion.

CR lost credibility after their Suzuki fraud.

ONLY 2022 model year. So new are fine, 2023 are fine, 2021 are fine.
What is your source for this information?

Mopar states model years '21-'24, NHTSA states model years '21-'23, and an NHTSA supporting document states battery cells manufactured during 2021 and used in Wrangler production through March 22 2023.
