On another note, I’m also thrilled to see what they might do and what it might be if they do re-introduce or continue with the V8 in the Wrangler. Never know, might be trading up!
If they put it in the Wrangler, you sir are an example of exactly why. You would not be alone.

I think a lot of people would trade up, especially if they would fit a 5.7 in a 2 door. I love my jeeps, but that would def make me unbolt all my mods and trade one in.

Highly unlikely with the V6 dropped from the 2 dr Bronco for 25. Except the high dollar “Stroppe Edition” as you saw on the previous page. But, they would sell, perhaps even to would be V6 Bronco buyers, (maybe they will realize that) so hope springs eternal 🤷🏼‍♂️

Don’t get me wrong, I’m thrilled with my 2024 Rubicon 392. But, if they come up with something even more exciting, and better equipped, let’s say, a higher performance engine, better axles, gears, shocks, suspension, interior improvements, 38 inch tires, etc., I’d be very interested. I’m dreaming of course. But, hey, you would think that Jeep would want to save face somehow with coming out with a final edition for the Rubicon 392. Just to continue it as is and act as if nothing happened, wouldn’t bode well. That’s why my guess is they won’t be bringing back the V8 in the Wrangler anytime soon, or, if they do, they have to make it something different than what it is today. Just my two cents.

I couldn’t pull it off at over $100K today. I could at $73.5K in 21. That said, if a 5.7, proper 6 speed Tremec 2 dr was also available it would have been a tough choice, and probably the winner. Even without considering the lower price.

I know. I overpaid to boot. I bought in Sept. 24. I had one ordered at a better price, but they went on strike one week later and I got worried. Stupid on my part. I really wanted one and ended up paying just $2k under MSRP. 😳😬

In early 21 the going rate was $5K over, and up to $20K. The dealer that sold me my 15 GCSRT at $400 under invoice and even gave me the $500 veterans discount that didn’t apply to SRT’s offered an ordered one backed out of for MSRP, phone deposit made. When the new sales manager called and said it should be here in 2-3 weeks he pushed me for $5K over. ~ 2 weeks later “bad news, there was a. ‘glitch’ in the system and we didn’t get the allocation” They obviously got the $5K …. ended up ordering elsewhere for MSRP…… the first price increase was before delivery, so that’s all I saved.

You have a GC SRT? Sweet! I’m on my fourth grand Cherokee in a row, none of them a V-8, however. Wish I had one. And I had three other grand Cherokee’s before that my past life. Would love to get my hands on a track hawk.

If Jeep is smart, they’d come out with another high-powered V8 grand Cherokee. I think it would sell like crazy in today’s market.

I damn sure don’t want the current V6 or hybrid only options. What happened to the T-6 supposedly replacing the V8’s ? My 15 just had it’s first problem, but an expensive one, a TC module $451 + $778 labor = $1,229 ouch !

Ouch! Agreed on the engine choice. They absolutely must bring back a V8 Grand Cherokee!

That's huge news! The return of the Hemi, especially in supercharged form, is exciting for muscle car fans. The departure of Carlos Tavares and potential relaxation of fuel economy rules likely contributed to this decision. What do you think the horsepower numbers will look like?
Similar to what they are now. The could do some tweaks like DI but don’t expect any large new developments. They would most likely be a stop gap until a new V8 is designed, if those reports are true. ie- you can get a 5.0 Mustang with 500 HP NA and a factory warrantied Whipple SC with 800+ HP. I would expect a next gen. V8 designed with similar displacement. … but my Crystal Ball has failed me before.

We are saying v8, but really any engine update would be welcome. Heck, even if they said we got 10 more hp out of the 2.0, that would make some people want to upgrade. My 2018s with the 2.0 and etorque are arguably better than the 2.0 without and the dual battery setups that keep failing. I really like the 5.0 coyote engine. Not sure how much less it weighs than the 5.7 hemi but a smaller displacement v8 could be the answer too.

Posted yesterday,☝ agree on the 5.0.
But regarding a measly 4 banger 10 hp increase, Ford offers an $825 warrantied Bronco 4 cyl tune for 30 hp to 330, and 60 lb ft to 385. … although as usual and expected, sorry — “Not for California” (unless approved since it was announced- Highly Unlikely !)

Just retuning the 2.0T to bump it from 270 to 300 hp would, I'd suggest, steer more folks that way, if only for the bragging rights of a hp figure beginning with three.

If Stellantis also cooled their heels on the 850RE pricing, that would be even better. I paid $1,500.00 for mine in Sept. 2020. Since then, it hasn't stood still, bouncing back and forth between $2.5K and $4.5K(!), sometimes depending on engine selection. It's ridiculous.
