Maybe someone can point me to a thread where this is explained.

But my question begins like this:

I've ordered my JL (I haven't yet, but I'm days away). Do I now get a "key" to this marvelous website where I track my build?

If not, what DO I have?

And what are those codes I hear "D" status, etc.?

Thanks. I plead ignorance. Please educate me.

Tracking your build can be done if you post your VON/VIN and order date to the listing JAY and Dealer guy will be creating this upcoming Monday. I missed the previous one and won't be requesting to get into the next tracking group because my order is moving along. Your order can also be tracked through Jeep's chat feature on their website with your VIN. That's how I, and many others, track it at the moment.

Those codes are status codes showing where your build is along its progress. http://www.jeepfan.com/tech/chrysler-jeep-vehicle-order-codes/

Thanks for that description. My dealer should keep this cheat sheet close because they seem to be clueless on the codes. Either that or they just don't care enough to explain them to me.

I ordered a JLU - Rubicon Feb. 13 and the dealer told me the Estimated Ship date was Mar. 5 (yesterday). When I called yesterday, he told me it was today. I was hoping there was a status that was "In Transit" and that appears to be true, but there are a ton of those codes! I'm only 3 hours from Toledo...that should be quick delivery.

Hopefully I will see it soon...it's just painful.

Where did you see that tracking will open again this coming Monday? Are you talking about it reopening on 3/12/18? What time?

I just ordered last week and would love to be able to track.

It’s pretty easy. Go to Jeep.com and click on Live Chat. Pester the poor minimum wage worker on the other end for your status. Berate them when they don’t tell you what you want to hear, then post a rant here outlining exactly how much you hate FCA and how you feel slighted because they aren’t giving you up to the minute supply line and plant status. Paste that rant as a reply to several other, not necessarily related, threads. Repeat this every day until your Jeep comes.

:cwl:

Just kidding. Don’t do any of that. We have enough people doing that, already. :bandit:

My order went out 2/5, I was told 8-12 weeks..I’m in D1 status, I’ve checked the status a couple times and they have always been polite and friendly. They won’t give the “code” unless you ask.. when I checked a few days ago she said “ all parts received, scheduled to be built” I asked if that was D1 and she said “yes, they should start your build any day”.... it’s going to be awesome.. sold the JK a while back to get ready for the JL and It’ll be great to be in the drivers seat of a Jeep again
