Ordered my Rubicon on 2/17/18, as of this morning I was told via Jeep chat that I was in KZ with an estimated pick up date of 4/1 to 4/5. I called my salesman and he confrimed the info to be correct. I feel fortunate that my process has been as quick as its been .
Freedom top only I'm guessing?

I likely have all of you beat. Ordered 12/26. My first was built in late Jan and then spent 22 days in "I" and then failed inspection. Factory resubmitted my order and now I'm on day 19 in "JB". It seems like I just can't catch a break!
I'm sitting in "I" status for two weeks now. How long were you in "I" for your second order?

Were you notified by your dealer about the failed inspection, or did you have to escalate with someone to get answers?

Can't escalate for 30 days. I'm at 22 in inspection, 8 more to go before I either move forward to get held up somewhere else, or go back to the beginning. Like a giant board game! Lol

So you were told that the holdup in "I" was for the soft top? You would think it would be held up beyond "I" status for that (like in JB or something).

I was, two separate times. And I agree, that would make more sense, unless they've got nowhere to move it to. But I've moved past the irritation, anger and resentment into the acceptance phase. You can over think every aspect of it, but we really have no idea what's going on. And I think the info we get from jeep chat and their canned responses are worth exactly what we pay for them. A new jeep is nice but pales in comparison to everything in life that is really important. Mine will finally get through inspection and I will never know what held it up, but I will have a warranty and then the extended warranty to take care of me. Or it fails and they start over and I don't see it until June. Don't get a lot of days before then in central New York to put the top down before then anyway. On the plus side, I've escaped the issues with the mopar lift bowing springs and the ACE sliders rubbing on the frame, and who knows what else. Glass half full.

I was told yesterday by my dealer after being in inspection for 3 weeks, that mine is also waiting for a soft top. If that's accurate, they're holding them everywhere for the soft top.

Frustrating to us, we all want our jeeps. Imagine how stressful it is for management in Toledo with built jeeps everywhere and none of them moving because of the soft tops. And po'd customers blowing up their whole network, jeep chat, dealers, etc. Personally, I've decided to relax. When it gets here, it gets here. It will be worth the wait.
@cnyjl I admire your reason and patience. I tried to share them but, nope, can’t do it. I want my Jeep and I want it now! :)

Seriously, I am genuinely surprised by the display of ineptitude. Customer service, sourcing, and supply chain, are the basics. Jeep chose to produce JK and JL models in the same model year. They pooched the off-road pages for some unknown reason. They relay inconsistent messages on a number of topics. If they can’t get the simple stuff right it raises concerns, to me at least, as to whether or not it will have been worth the wait.

I’m going to continue to hang in there, impatiently though, and hope for the best. My current estimate is TBD but, some signs point to April top availability. If that pans out, come June, we can all bond over our delivery delay stories when we meet up on the trails. I can’t wait!

I think it is so backed up that they are backed up in every letter...as I’ve said before, they’ve ‘Boggled’ the status codes. They don’t have the same significance as before.

Wait..the sliders rub on the frames?! I ordered mine a while ago...what was the issue?

I'm kind of surprised they decided to go ahead and build the Jeeps and back themselves into this shipping corner. It only takes a day to build each one (no idea on the throughput of units per day, but each unit only takes 1 day start to finish). So they built all of these units over the course of a few weeks, then they had to store them all and wait for the tops, which make it harder to ship out not only these units, but the ones that weren't waiting on soft tops. The way things are going I honestly think it would have been faster if they just didn't build the soft top units until they started receiving the tops.

The wait for a backordered part sucks, but it was going to happen whether it was due to this shipping nightmare or whether they just started the build later.

Now, obviously this doesn't tell the whole story. We don't know how many hard tops there are vs soft tops, or if it would even have been reasonable to hold off building the soft top units... But we do know the fact that the units were all built and waiting for soft tops caused this huge bottleneck on shipping that affected every vehicle built.

It would be nice if they would offer a soft top removal option for those of us willing to forgo the soft top and simply have it delivered with the hard top.
