The dreaded JB freeze

F "JB"....only been here a week or so, but the time goes soooo slowly...I can only assume its the dual top...why can't they just send the top separately...You get so excited to check the spreadsheet and no movement...

i know. I see the spreadsheet update, and I am like "yes!"....and then followed by a "NOOOOOOO!!!!!"

Moi: OK, so once the top arrives, then it will be scheduled for delivery to the dealership?

Chanchal: Yes you will get a estimated time of arrival window then.

So I picked up my dual top Rubicon tonight. No soft top. Dealer didn't know anything about it not shipping with. Not sure if this was a factory mistake or decision to ship w/out. Dealer had another one with a soft top so they gave me that one...the factory also included headliners which I did not order...so I made out well I guess. This was my second Estimated Delivery period after JB.

Things to ponder:

If there was a factory order status of JL, wouldn't it imply that your rig was done?

If there was a factory order status of JZ, would it mean that your rig came with a spouse with a delicious booty?

I, too, was told this morning that the soft top shortage won't be lifted until "early April." I asked the Jeep Chat person "What happened to them arriving in mid-march?" She said "we always have said it would be mid-March to early April." Sureeee. She said they won't escalate anything on my order until my vehicle has been in JB for 30 days. Currently sitting at 21 days. I'll be going on vacation at the end of next week, but if I don't have confirmation that my Jeep is at least shipped by the time I get back, I'll just cancel and wait for the 2019 models. This isn't my first Jeep, but this has been by far the worst experience I've had with Jeep.

My status updated this morning from KZ Toledo estimate 3/29 - 4/2 to KZ Marion ETA TBD. So the KZ wait continues. Not sure why some folks are held up in JB waiting for the top and others make it to KZ but don’t ship because of the top. Dubya Tee Eff?

Just figured I'd check in here and let everyone know I sailed through JB.

Dealer sent in the order on 2/15
D1 on 2/24
Built 3/15/18 (JB same day)
KZ 3/19/18

My guess for the short delay I did have is that it was a weekend, and the "body vendor" probably isn't a 24 hour operation like the factory is.

My order was:

JLUR
Manual
White
Black leather
Hardtop headliner
Steel bumper
Infotainment group
Trailer tow
Cold weather
LED lighting
Remote proximity entry
Black hard top
Active safety group (added after leaving the dealer, but before the order was sent in. Don't know where it falls in the options order)

Now I guess we'll see how long it takes the car to go 110 miles from Toledo to my dealer.

I find it interesting how weird the tracking system is. I'm over on MOTS, and yesterday I saw that I was re-scanned at the VDC, but today when I woke up, KZ was added prior to that scan. I bet I won't even know the car was shipped until after it arrives. Seems all of the important changes don't actually get updated into MOTS until the following day. Guess I'll start cleaning out my JK so I'm ready when the dealer calls.

Consider yourself extremely lucky... I'd go buy a lotto ticket if I were you.

I'm not out of the woods yet. Still hasn't left Toledo as far as I'm aware. Shipping date has been pushed back once, and now they don't have an ETA.
