I was removing my spare tire and 2 of the 3 Teraflex lugs broke. Anyone have this issue and if so how did you go about removing the broken lugs. I had to remove the Teraflex Alpha spare tire carrier to get the tire off the Jeep. If this would have happened on the trail because I needed the spare I would be SOL. When I mounted the spare I didn't use an impact and torqued to Teraflex's Specs.

I had that same worry when I was running that plate mount. I switched to the motobilt version. It is just easy to remove, feels much better built (steel not plastic) and for those of us running a rear camera, it is much easier to disconnect the camera and 3rd brake light than on the TeraFlex version. It comes down to the positioning of the connections.

i ran with the teraflex on my previous build, swapped between 38s and 40s regularly. Never any issues but always was careful about TQ settings on those lugs. I was also careful about mounting and dismounting the wheel/tire to where it had little weight on the lugs until almost fully seated.

@flight4f If you can, head to a welding shop. They should be able to weld something on to each remaining piece of the Teraflex lugs that can be used to get them off. They also should have a torch that can heat them up to help removal.

Whatever you put back in the future, use a small amount of anti-seize compound on the lug bolt threads.

That’s going to be tricky, they appear to be broken off flush or maybe slightly below the face of the wheel

Drill a pilot hole and use an ez out remover but make sure to spray them first

Should still work. There's enough surface of the Teraflex nuts to get something on them. A welding /machine shop should be able to handle it.

This likely wont work. What would the OP drill a pilot hole into? Look closely at the posted pics and how the Teraflex lugs are broken off. The Teraflex lugs are broken over the spare tire wheel studs. OP won't be able to drill/EZ out the the wheel studs and there isn't room to drill/EZ out the broken lugs.

I remember putting those lug nut / plate bracket retainers and wondering what they were made out of. I am likely wrong but they felt too light to be steel but didn’t quite seem to be aluminum either. @flight4f what are they made of?

I think they are aluminum.
