Teraflex adjustable spare tire mount question

Yesterday I installed the teraflex tailgate reinforcement and adjustable tire mount. I don't particularly like the third brake light location. 3 reasons: 1) Have to unplug the light to remove the wheel; 2) easy to steal; and 3) I can't use my BOLT wheel lock, as the light is in the way. Has anyone found an "in wheel" LED Brake light that would go behind the spare and work with the teraflex mount? I contacted teraflex, and they said they cannot recommend one, as they have not tried to fit another brake light on the mount. Any help is appreciated.

I have both Teraflex units on mine and I have the teraflex 3rd brakelight and a $60 Amazon LED brake ring behind my spare. I have had zero issues and it is not that big of deal to unplug the 3rd brake light.

I had similar concerns at first but:
1. It's not like I take the wheel of every day or even once a month so unplugging the light it isn't a big deal for me and it is pretty quick and easy to do. I prefer it to an over the tire light to give me more viewing area out my back window above the tire. I am not sure how street legal the ones are that are mounted behind the wheel.
2. I was worried about the theft part (especially since the quick disconnect is bright red and screams "unlatch me") but even though I don't park in a garage and park in a lot of sketchy areas in Los Angeles, I have never had an issue with someone messing with it.
3. I use locking lug nuts.

Can you describe how you disconnect the Teraflex third brake light set up? Mine does not seem to want to disconnect, and Teraflex's directions do not cover this well. I'm not sure if mine is stuck or I'm doing it wrong. thanks

Are you referring to unlatching the assembly or unplugging the electrical connection?

It should be an easy push on the tab while separating the housing. Push this tab down

I think that may be my problem since my wires don't come out available like that. I may have routed the wires through the spare carrier wrong. Hmm. I have a new wire loom to do this again and probably need to figure out the correct wire route out to that 3rd brake light.

I pulled the high mount brake light wire through the area where the camera is mounted and then pulled it out the top gap by the camera.
