I just bought a Certified Pre owned 2021 Wrangler with only 7000 miles on it. After getting it home I noticed a rattle in the engine that goes away less than 2 minutes after a cold start. Took it back to the Jeep dealership and was told that it was the turbo charger and they say that they have replaced it and it should be covered under the Preowned warranty.

Having been stuck at home for 4 days now waiting for them to fix it, I've had plenty of time to do some research. I have found videos on this forum with the same issue, making the same noise and the resolution is to replace the timing chain tensioner.

I feel like the dealership may be scamming me and thinking that they are probably putting in an additive to quiet the noise to hide the problem until the next oil change.... Am I being paranoid? What would you do?

My video of the noise is too large to upload here 🤬 I'll try to post a link to one of the other videos in the comments.

I'd bring that video to the jeep service dept manager and tell them you found info on same noise and suggest they consider that it might just be the tensioner.

After 4 days I got the Jeep back. They replaced the entire turbocharger and the noise is still there. The manager is coming to my house on Monday to hear it himself.
