I’m new at this so please bear with me. I’ve installed and uninstalled my Tazer twice now thinking I’ve done something wrong. I get the settings I want to work but the check engine light doesn’t go out without me disconnecting the battery for a while after I’ve uninstalled the Tazer.
I checked with their support and they say the codes I got and the check engine light were normal and would go away on their own. I just want to verify if that’s been the case for others. I didn’t mess around with TPMS or gears or anything like that.
I was also wondering how long the dash lights are supposed to stay on after turning the engine off. It seemed to stay on too long for me. I don’t have the proximity doors so I don’t think my key fob was keeping it on. Not sure.

I use mine to disable many factory features such as TPMS, BSM, backup sensors and proximity key system that the computer expects to be there and don't have any issues. I also use it to calibrate my speedo for the larger tires amongst many other things...Almost no option is left untouched with my Tazer. No check engine light problems here. Your Tazer can read and clear DTC codes too.

So you're saying the check engine light stays on while engine is running? Have you checked for codes? Have had 3 rigs with tazer, and no issues. I'm assuming you did marry it, and when uninstalling, maybe try to unmarry then remarry it

Yes, it stays on while the engine is running. Did the full install correctly. Checked for and cleared the codes it gave me. Z auto says the codes I listed were for the outside temperature, which did fix itself after a while. They said the engine light should also fix itself after a while. I’ll try it again later this week and see if it does indeed fix itself.
Even after I unmarried it and went through the reboot and sleep cycles I still had to disconnect my battery to make it go away. Messes with my satellite radio every time I do that.

This makes no sense, the tazer can clear codes...just clear them and run it.

I did clear them but the light still stays on.
That doesn't make a lot of sense. The computer doesn't (typically) trip the light until it has encountered the same error twice. If you clear the code then start the Jeep it couldn't have tripped the same error twice yet. I'd just run it and see what happens.

Merely installing it (without changing anything) causes this?

Have you updated the Tazer's firmware?

Note that you have to follow the sleep cycle process precisely.

Have you updated the firmware on the Tazer yet? I had some weird glitches bc I just installed it after getting it in the mail. Once I updated it, I had zero problems.

This is critical step and must be done after clearing codes.

After clearing the codes and saving did you do a Full Reboot and do 2 Sleep Cycles?

How to perform a FULL REBOOT AND TWO SLEEP CYCLES
After making all of your changes, scroll to “full reboot?” and select it. • Wait for the countdown, then perform two sleep cycles. • The quickest way to do two sleep cycles is to turn the ignition off, open and close the driver’s door and wait about 60 seconds AFTER the dash goes dark, then turn the ignition on (but not the engine) and repeat once more. • This step is critical after changing settings or settings might not save, or you may find that the dash doesn’t shut down, which can result in a dead battery.
Full Reboots should be performed on level ground, with the wheels straight and with your foot off the brakes.

Thanks for the quick explanation. Does this also require a few drive cycles to clear the CEL? Or does it clear immediately?

Thanks for the reply, I still can’t seem to get them cleared. My tazer is showing me ABS code U0100-00 and BCM code U1514-87. Have performed all the proper steps and rebooting and sleep cycles. Even tried unmarrying and remarrying and still the codes come up in the tazer menu and the CEL on dash remains lit. Not quite sure what else to try.
