It had been a long time since I did a Firmware update on my Tazer JL Mini. I did the latest one a few days ago, and have the engine light now on and the following codes: U1818 Lost Communication with Brake System Control Module, U0100 Lost Communication with ECM/PCM 'A', U1514-87 Invalid Data Received from Door Module, U0168 Lost Communication with Vehicle Security Control Module. I unmarried, did a Full Reboot and 2 Complete Sleep Cycles. Cleared DTC's. Then ReMarried, did a Full Reboot and 2 Complete Sleep Cycles. The engine light is still on and all the codes above are still there. I contacted Z Automotive and was told to Unmarry and ReMarry...which I did but didn't fix it. Does anyone have any idea what I need to do?

Did you sleep cycle it right after updating the firmware? If not it's possible it kept your Jeep awake and drained the battery which resulted in the codes (communication codes can occur due to low voltage). How's your battery looking?

I Married it and then did a reboot followed by 2 sleep cycles. The battery didn’t die and is at 14.6.

You can try to unmarry and use the zauto app to "recover" your tazer and then try to marry again.

the problem is that I have an engine light on now that won’t clear.

Do the errors clear when tazer is out?
I used my obd II reader to clear them. As soon as I re-married the Tazer the Engine Light & codes came right back.

So without the tazer, can you plug back into your stock sgw clear the codes with your obd2 reader. Do the lights stay off?

I did that, and the codes were gone. As soon as I married the Tazer, the engine light and codes came back.

At this point I think of unmarry the tazer and try the recover button in the zauto app and see if that gives a fresh start on your firmware

Hi, every time I make changes, or unmarry and remarry, etc I get some error codes and the check engine light is on. That includes when I unmarry and fully remove the Tazer. I think it has to do with a Tazer reboot, at least on my, new to me, 2021 2-Door Rubi. And Yes, I follow the reboot and sleep cycle instructions word for word. Codes I get vary but seem to be mainly PCM U0168, and BCM U113B-00 & P1514-87, which I read are not emergency and due to jeeps internal communication checks (read on internet so take that for what it’s worth).
I found two ways to clear check engine light-
1) last couple times and my first option now: The light usually goes out after driving around normal short drives and after the 3rd or 4th jeep restart. I believe the CE light comes on until it resets itself and whatever caused it to come on doesn’t register again after 3 or 4 times in a row then the light goes out, again read that on internet. This option also works after CE comes on when I unmarry and fully remove the Tazer.
2) first couple times I was using the Tazer and CE light came on after reboots and I couldn’t get it to go off I was very frustrated. I picked the option to clear all DTC codes then after it confirmed clearing and while it was flashing and beeping at me, I started the Jeep. Check engine light went out and stayed out. Complete accident that I found this worked, for my Jeep anyway.
I would try option 1 first but can try option 2 this time if you want.
Hope one or both work for you. If not then good luck. Let us know.

Wendi would it be possible to take it back to the previous firmware? I can’t remember if you can but if working ok then maybe it will again.
