I am going crazy trying to find the correct wire to tap into to give power to my aftermarket camera. I am trying to set it so I can also use while not just in reverse.
I thought white/purple is the correct wire but can’t find anywhere to validate.

10 wires to pick from on the passenger side rear taillight harness

2- black which I know is ground
Light Green
White / orange
White / purple
Dark Green / white
Light green / white
Pink / orange
White / brown
White

Not sure any of those come on with the ignition vs. having to run the parking lights all the time. Most of the newer rear view cameras have wiring to come back to the source to gain power. If you want it on all the time, just run the reverse wire to the hot wire. I ran mine back to the radio and the power line to a ignition on fuse. I ran the front camera the same way.

I ran my Wolfbox 900 Rear camera power through the interior of the tailgate and tapped the power for the camera from the far inside right on the tailgate (the side with the door handle to open the tailgate). See pictures. I removed the interior tailgate cover and tapped in there. In the picture you can see the red wire running to the right and the second picture is where I tapped in. Not a professional job, but you could tap in in the same area.

It looks like you tapped into the oem camera wire. Atleast that is what I have.

Are you set on using that specific power source? I bought a 12v adapter harness & some 2 pin connectors and installed the adapter in between the rear 12v outlet and can pretty much go anywhere from there in terms of power. Check out this video for an explanation, he installs a light for a rear prep area using the adapter but power is power. I got the parts from Amazon instead of Quadratec.

Easily wire a Jeep...

I agree power is power. Was just trying to minimize distance
