12v power tap for JL **Now Available for JL**

My 18 JLUR did not come with the AUX switch package. I have one on order but it is backordered by Mopar. I would like to wire in a GMRS radio without having to go through the firewall again (hitch harness). Anybody know if this 12v power tap for the JK will work for the JL?

Thats more for like accessories that have a power button and or switch and need to be on when ignition is on. I wouldn't use it for a pair of KC fog lights. Just tap those in to the factory ones.

I have factory LED lights. When it snows they freeze over because the LED's produce no heat. So I'm adding a pair of KC "halogen" fogs for winter driving. I don't have the factory auxiliary switches. Trying to avoid punching a hole through the wire harness grommet on the passenger side. I have an automatic so I can get power through the grommet on the driver side fire wall. Just thought the Quadratech power tap would work.

It was pretty easy. Now I have lockable 12 accessory port for a cell and no visible wires to power my sirius.

Just read QT's instruction. Pretty simple device, nice. Can I ask something that is akin to asking about making deals with the devil? Couldn't one just use a wire tap into the positve wire going to the outlet? That's a traditional, plain jane solid 12 volt switched wire, correct? So if you didn't mind cutting into the harness a we bit I think a a pair of wire taps and a fusable link would accomplish the same thing. It's not for everyone, but I think I'll go that route when I get my lights hooked up. Glad I came across this thread.
