"It works exactly as Mule says it works...you snap pics of a PSP Troop parking lot full of tinted cars, and submit it as evidence. That was his idea, not mine...and I have to admit, it's a good one."

I HIGHLY doubt that would work! The same theory would be taking a picture of a police officer off duty speeding to get out of a speeding ticket...
I disagree. It's nothing like speeding. Speeding is situation specific where tint is universal. I think it's got a great shot of working.

We can agree to disagree. Your excuse to get out of the ticket is the same principle. I have never heard a defense work that "says someone else (even law enforcement) broke the law so I should not have to obey it either." Would love to hear how it plays out in court for you. With that said, I still think your chances of even getting a ticket are slim to none.

You'll never "hear how it plays out in court for me" because i'll never be in court for window tint. On that, we agree.

Here you go Kev, I found a traffic stop by a PA Trooper, albeit not a Station Commander, for window tint (a primary and the only traffic violation in this case) which lead to Marijuana being discovered in the driver's car, an arrest and a jail term. It was Appealed to PA Superior Court and the conviction was affirmed.

See the snippet below:

COMMONWEALTH of Pennsylvania, Appellee
v.
Kennedy Decatrick KEMP, Appellant.

The facts adduced at the August 3, 2005 suppression hearing follow. In the early morning hours of March 19, 2005, State Trooper Anthony F. DeLuca was monitoring traffic along the Pennsylvania Turnpike near the Allegheny Tunnel. He observed Appellant's vehicle with tinted windows that prevented him from seeing inside the car, and he began to follow it. The windows were tinted on the front, front passenger's side, front driver's side, rear passenger's side, rear driver's side, and rear windows. Such tinting constituted a violation of 75 Pa.C.S. § 4524(e)(1).[1]

Again, ALL equipment violations are PRIMARY violations in PENNSYLVANIA. They are not secondary. The driver above was pulled over for aftermarket TINT, there were no other violations of law observed PRIOR to the traffic stop. The weed was discovered later during the course of the traffic stop.

You can Google the defendants name, if you want to read the entire ruling.

In VA I paid $350 for full Ceramic tint, including the rear window. Front Driver/passenger only got like 50%. Now that I live in FL and there are fewer restrictions I'm getting the front done to match the back, the heat in the front is awful here!

I live in Vegas which is super hot and sunny so I got ceramic tinting all the way around except for the windshield. I kept within the state legal tinting laws for CA since I often travel there. We don't have to keep a front license plate either in NV so I expect I could draw attention from CA police so just trying to minimize how many things about my car that might piss them off.

If you want to keep your car cool, the ceramic tint does a really nice job. Even when I turn my car off and run errands for 30 minutes while the car sits in 115 degree heat and sunlight, it's still relatively cool when I get back to it.

The cost was $500 though so not sure if you'd want to throw down for that given that PA doesn't have the heat challenges of Vegas.

seems as of late we are getting there (the heat that is)

Did you notice any difference? Thanks

Only before pics. After pics get used in court as evidence.
