It does take some getting used to if you are coming from an IFS vehicle. But, I would not trade the feel of my Jeep for any other vehicle after having it since November and getting out on the trails a few times. This is my daily driver and I drive 53 miles round trip back and forth six days per week. I'm out on the trails about once or twice a month. In two months I've put 4,200 miles on the clock and I've had a blast the whole time. You'll get used to it and when you do, you'll enjoy the heck out of it especially if you're hitting some trails with it.

Love my new Jeep! Not in love with the way it drives. Picked it up from the dealer with 41 lbs in the tires. Got it home and lowered to 24 for the beach. Drove it around for 4 days on and off the beach at 24. Raised to 32 for the 130 mile trip back to work. Got out of the Jeep and into the work car (2019 Charger) and was like man, this thing is relaxing to drive.

I just seem busy in the Jeep. Always correcting to keep it from wandering in the lane. It's kinda like a helicopter, you are constantly busy flying that thing. I know it's a Jeep and I know Jeeps drive different.

Anyone else feel like that? Maybe it's just something I have to get used to.

It's big difference going from an independent front suspension charger to a solid axle wrangler. The live axle will tend to track the road imperfections. Tires will make a difference too. Not sure which trim you have but the duellers on my 4xe are actually pretty comfy and have better road manners than the all terrains i had on my Jks. After 3 wranglers I get bored easily in other cars. I like that I am forced to to focus on the road instead of fiddling with carplay or worse on my phone. Which i tended to do on my old accord way back when.

After even a short drive around town in my Dodge 2500 with 285k miles on it, my bone stock 2-door Willys Sport feels like a precision European supercar.
Also, I occasionally drive my boss's well kept 2020 Explorer and it's more of a chore to drive than the JL.

You can get it to drive just like your work car, all you have to do is replace:
Tie rod
Drag link
Track bar
Steering stabilizer
Balljoints
Add track bar brace and that’s it…easy peasy ….…:)

Call me crazy, but I don’t feel like mine drives all that different from my 4Runner. Maybe it’s cause my 4R has heavy springs, but I find my Jeeps ride more comfortable and I don’t feel like it floats all over the lane while on the highway, needing constant correction either. ??‍♂
Right there with you and I have a 2 Door. My 4Runner steering wasn’t nearly as responsive and it seemed to float around. The Rubicon isn’t a major overhaul but I wonder sometimes if people who have bought a JL have had prior models. The JK for example, I had 2 (and a TJ)and driving a JL seems lightyears ahead as far as steering and comfort.

The tire makes a difference too. A more aggressive tire with harder sidewalls and rough tread will exacerbate the feel. I daily with a smaller, road friendly wheel and tire because it drives better. When I Offroad I put on the appropriate wheels and tires.

Same here with my sport altitude R.I.P., we'll see when my Rubi is delivered but for the life of me I could not find a single thing to complain about as far as the drivability went. In fact I put quite a few miles on a friend of mine's loaded F-150, I seriously felt my Jeep tracked better. I will say that in high winds it is a different story though.

I see you have a '23 JLUR. Ours is a '22 JLUR....but our previous JLU was a 2019 and that had HUGE wandering issues.
I've read every post in every topic here because of that.
Our '22 JLUR is amazingly better than the '19 JLU. However, it still wanders a little. Putting it in Auto 4WD, 4Hi somehow it wanders less than in 2Hi.

I can't count how many times I've read or heard, "It's a Jeep Thing".

The fix on our 2019 was a new steering box following intervention by @JeepCares and a link to real help with FCA Jeep Canada Customer Care. That help was the reason we came back and are Jeep Owners again.

Which transfer case do you have in your '23 JLUR?

My Jeep must be defective.

If we’re talking simple commutes from point a to point b, it drives just like every other vehicle I’ve driven.

The wife’s 2017 Ford Expo is all over also; at much higher speeds mind you. With the Jeep, I’ve just learned to slow down on the interstate. With diesel prices what they are nowadays most semi drivers are content doing 60-70 in the slow lane, and I’m right behind them. But I’m also an old fart happy to putt along too, to each their own.

I think you will get used to it! I knew Jeeps aren't notorious for being "nice drivers" (for lack of a better term), but the first few days I drove mine, I found myself thinking "oh man, what have I done". Within a week I was used to it and now think it drives pretty darned nice compared to what I expected. Our other vehicles are/have been 3/4 ton diesel trucks so granted, I'm not comparing it to a luxury or sports car.

Call me a freak but I love the way my 22 JLUR drives and enjoy it every time I am behind the wheel. I went from a Cadillac XT4 to my Jeep and never looked back . The JLU also drives much better than the 13 JKU I had

Besides the occasional Hi Ranger bucket truck, various year F 250 superduty's, Dodge 1 tons and 3/4, Jeeps are all my wife and I drive. I drive really long distances in them. I enjoy being part of the drive and do not like the feel of luxury cars because they are too comfortable. That doesn't make sense to most people and that's ok.
I drove about 950 miles +- this week alone in my 2013. The only thing that really bothered me was I passed real close by Hot Springs Off Road Park (Superlift) and was on too tight a schedule to hit some of my fav trails. My honey's 23 JLR is going to take us to the Hill Country tonight for the weekend. That damn thing is really fun to drive.....

read my signature down below here and think about it a bit. Its military but its to this subject.

Same here. '23 URXR. Glad it's for the wife, she loves it. I think it's kind of fun but wouldnt have one as my only vehicle. Annoying to me personally to constantly be correcting.
