Has anyone installed the Sunrider for hardtop on a 2024? Confused as to whether the seal in the front should go under, or over, the plastic bracket. Seems if it sticks out and over, it will fold when the door shuts. Mopar’s videos aren’t very clear. Shop that did the install said the 2024 rubber seals were different. Thanks.
I did, but

Here’s a pic of the area where the seal could go under, as it does in the pic, or over the Sunrider plastic rail.

so, mine slaps that little flappy thing down, probably cause I've simply never paid attention to it.
I've taken it on/off a couple of times to get the Jeep naked.
I've run it through the carwash numerous times.
NO issues at all...

BTW, comparing your Jeep history and mine, hmmmm we're either both genius's or just pretty damn special...

Thanks. First had it installed like yours is, but it didn’t look right. Hasn’t been in rain since the install to see if it leaks. Mopar site shows installing over the rubber piece. I’ll just have to keep an eye on it.

Yes. I had that mine flap out as well without any issues, but the more I looked at the right way of doing it my OCD kicked in and I fixed it to flap under.

Hello, which Mopar site indicates to put it over the flap? I’m trying to find it not that I don’t believe you I just want to check to see because I’m struggling with where the flap should go myself as I want to minimize water intrusion I now have it behind like you do but I’m being told on Reddit and other places that the flap is supposed to be Out and exposed for whatever reason. Thanks for your help in advance.

The only reference I could find was watching the Mopar 3 minute video they posted on you tube, which shows them installing the plastic bracket over the rubber piece. The video was labelled "Sunrider Flip Top for Hard Top / How to / 2024 Jeep" The sunrider top is the same for all JL model years, so there isn't a specific sunrider top for just the 2024, and I can't see where there were any changes between 2023 and 2024 on the JL body molding / hard top at this location, but the shop that installed it said the "flap" was different from previous years. The problem I have with leaving it on the outside of the plastic rail is that it folds over when you shut the door ... which didn't seem correct. I'm sending an email to Bestop now.

Good morning and thank you for such a prompt response. I look forward to seeing to see what best top has to say because I agree with you, when I installed mine. I realize that flap in question was an extra appendage that did not exist in the 18 through 23 production models. My fear is if I leave it out and shut the door on it. It’s useless if I tuck it up is it working so I will be on pins and needles waiting your response. Thank you very much. I wish I had paid more attention to how the flap was located when the freedom panels were still on prior to removing them.

Here is a picture of the flap on my 2024 JL.

My Sunrider should be here on Friday, so I am also interested in hearing what Bestop has to say about how the flap should be positioned on a 2024 install.

Interesting, so from the factory, the flap is on the outward position against the freedom panel. I would assume it will be the same with the Sunrider because the engineers probably added that to prevent water intrusion, which the 18 through 23 were prone to at the top of the A pillar.

Per Bestop's customer service rep on the webpage chat, the flap should be fully out, and not tucked or folded, as we have pic's of here. At first they said tuck it in, but then corrected themselves and said it need to be fully out. I'll have to work with mine to see if I can get the flap when pulled out to lay in correctly between the sunrider panel and the door without folding over when the door is shut.

Excellent thank you so much for your help. Gonna run out on my lunch break and fix my real quick. It is very easy you loosen both bolts. You don’t even have to take them fully out with the rail up and pull the flap out. Thanks again I appreciate it. Have a wonderful day.

Makes sense, since this is the way it is when the freedom panels and soft top are installed. Not sure why my shop had an issue, but I'll find out later today when I pull the rails off and untuck the flap.
