I ran mine through the car wash to test for leaks right after installing it. No problems at all.

;)I, on the other hand to those reporting above, got a deluge of water in my rig after installing the Sunrider.

But then.....it is monsoon season and I forgot to close it.;)

Seriously: no leaks, no more noise than the Freedom Panels, no less warmth in a rig otherwise known for a hot running engine, and perhaps by virtue, an otherwise excellent heating system.

So far, it's a great product.

Hey all! Is the Sunrider a top that can be taken off and removed completely with relative ease? I am thinking Sunrider for summer and Freedom panels in the winter. I just don’t want to have it be a chore to swap.

Thanks
Yes, but I’ve been using it in 18° weather and there’s little difference between my insulated freedom tops and the twill. It’s damn cold no matter what and the seat/steering wheel warmers work great. Once the interior comes up to comfort level it’s all the same.

Interesting. So it sounds that it can be a year ‘round deal, huh? Thanks for the info.

Why not .... a zillion guys have soft top Jeeps and run them year round.
My thinking is heat retention. I live in Colorado and I I type thisI am in breckenridge. We ski a lot and always in the snow. I figured the Freedom Tops would be better at keeping the cab warm.

Possibly a bit of difference with heat retention but would this bit be a big deal.. Get a layer of snow on a convertible or a hardtop and they would be similar.

Regardless, do know the SR is an easy on or off in 10 minutes.. 6 torx bolts and you need to be able to lift 32# ... or have a partner to assist you in the lifting.

I’m here in Colorado too. Get the twill.

I had the insulated/lined hardtop on my 2015 JK and I also had the Full twill soft top, The twill top was not as warm or as quiet as the insulated hard top, and although the twill in my Sunrider does not leak and is a good top I could definitely tell the difference in the noise level the first time I cranked up my Rubicon in my garage and also traveling on interstate highway yesterday. My twill is definitely not as quiet as my insulated/lined hardtop that I have and it also is not as warm when I first get in the Jeep. True enough after everything gets heated up then it’s warm enough! I can tell you if I lived in Colorado my twill would definitely not be on all the time. I have family up there and I know how cold it gets!

I may be one of the unlucky ones. But Bestop is working with me to correct the problem.

@Mantacon

Not for nothing, but it would be nice if you would have mentioned, say, if you had just gone through a car wash, happened when you opened the door and the rain came in from the gutter or what exactly transpired.. How about a little more on this from you. Thanks in advance!

Oh.... what are your thoughts on where the leak is coming from. What is Bestop saying to do to remedy?

This is the twill model. We had a hard rain storm in California (hard to believe I know) and I was parked on a downward slope. Water rushing down the hardtop into the corner. Leaking through the seal is all I can tell. Sent pictures and videos of the leaking to Bestop this weekend as i was able to recreate, awaiting their response.
