Is that your experience? I work through mud and sand pulling a trailer and my Jeep drives just fine. The clutch isn't optimal by far but I really enjoy driving mine. I'm post 19A recall and haven't gotten a "Clutch too hot" error.

EDIT: I fell for troll bait. :-(
Yes. As described here.

I may be in the minority here, but I had a ‘19 Sahara with the 6MT and I liked it so much I sold it last fall and bought a Willy’s 2 door with the 6MT.

I really like it and I am happy with it. If something happened to it (accident etc) I would buy another exactly the same spec.

Ha ha, great short summary! Now i know what it is like to drive a 1978 dump truck!
  • B&M makes a short-throw kit for the Jeep 6MT. Reduces throw by almost 20%. Appears to be a pretty simple install. I may give it a whirl. Save my knuckles and quit randomly engaging the emergency flashers.
  • I now have improved pedal feel. Enough that I can now "feather" the clutch. Makes a big difference, especially offroad.
  • I don't disagree, but don't totally agree. There is currently no better aftermarket option. My advice is don't buy the 6MT if driving it is that bad for you. Mine is ok now.
When mine behaves itself it is actually pretty fun to drive. It’s just the “when” and “if” it is going to, and what’s going to work to smooth it out this time. With half of my previous vehicles being manual transmissions along with countless motorcycles, I’m pretty used to adapting to their individual quirks and so forth. But not properly engaging or disengaging as a “quirk” is a little less fun 🤣

If I wasn’t sure my passenger cam was going to round off again that tune sounds amazing.

35’s
CF Clutch
5.13’s
112k miles. New cam at 85k

Love driving my MT.

Count myself in the minority too. If I were to get another JL, It'd have to be the 6MT. It isn't perfect but I really prefer to row my own gears.

I believe @bmpcamry09 disables VVL high lift with the tune, so your cams may actually survive longer.

Backing up on even a smallest incline will cause Clutch too hot error after 10 yards.
Never had that problem with my 24. My old house was a steep driveway and backed up everyday for the first 6 months then moved. I’ve backed up a small utility trailer several times up the driveway with a lawn mower as well.

Same-ish. I ordered a 22 JLU Sport Altitude MT, after 4 short months it was murdered (long story) by a disgruntled employee. His insurance co sent me a shockingly fat check and I imediatly ordered a 23 JLUR MT. And like you if something were to happen to this one, I would not hesitate to order another manual.

He can disable the high lift cam function so that it doesn't round off again. It's what I had him do with mine.

How long have you had your CF clutch and how do you compare it to the factory one?

How do you get it to not quote something you didn't want to quote in the first place? Totally didn't want the first person in the quote. But when I quoted the other person, it dragged someone else's post into the replay.

I'll get it next time if I have to erase half the reply!
Only use Reply unless you actually want to quote multiple people. Sometimes it can get stuck in there as well

Actually, Brad's tuning addresses that as well. You can ask him to permanently disable VVL, which is suspected as the cause of the premature cam failures. VVL is only incorporated by Jeep as an emissions thing for CAFE gas mileage, sort of like ESS. Brad has posted on the forum ad-nauseam about VVL misconceptions.

Edit: Credit to @GabeBoyTheGreat and @hephaestus, they beat me to the punch. I am a bit slow these days and really need to read a bit further before posting. Sorry guys.

Sounds like there's a great "Crime Watch" story in there somewhere.... but, like you, I would certainly buy another MT. I just can't figure out why Jeep refuses to let me option out my dream Jeep; 2-dr, 392 Hemi, MT with 4.88s:
