Attached below is my tuning guide. I broke everything down so the average 1st grader can hopefully understand it. 😆 It has all the pricing scenarios and what not in it as well.

It’s kind of expensive, not going to lie, but what I tell people is it’s about the cost of 4 new tires these days 😆. My cost of $300 or $400 for the tuning/revisions/datalogging is actually absurdly cheap considering I’ll give you multiple files for multiple octanes and you’ll never be waiting for days for email response.
1st grader?? I'd like to think I'm at least on a 5th grade level 🤣😂
This is officially on my to do list, thanks!

I got my ECU back from HPTuners on a Thursday evening. Put it back in the Jeep, read my stock tune with the VCM software and sent to Brad Friday afternoon. He had the 93 octane v1 tune back to me that evening. Through the weekend, and the difficulty to quickly get him datalog runs due to heavy rain, Brad sent me new versions of his tune. By Monday he sent me the final version, which he tweaked once more because of a problematic timing advance and airflow call in fist gear. And by Tuesday, I had the final tune flashed and Brad did a final review of my last datalog run. All good, in a matter of days. Even with him working his "normal" job that weekend!

Try getting that kind of service from Superchips or Livernois. Ain't gonna happen.

I WISH my tires only cost $250

As it should be. I've never driven an automatic Wrangler, but I would say a tune is almost a requirement on the manual JL. Really transforms it and Brad is da man.

I have a new 4 door auto JL. Was asking for the hypothetical reason of possibly acquiring an additional that is intentionally different—meaning a used 2 door and specifically with a manual trans. Sounds like with recalls it should at least not explode but some people dont like and it has manny modern nannies so drive one first. Factoring in price a JK is more likely and sounds like they do not share any of the JL “issues” due to different clutch design
So a good friend of mine had a 17 JLUR, I have a 23 JLUR, both manuals. We swapped rigs a few times, he did not like my clutch but the JL shifts like butta by comparisan The soft top is also miles better/easier on the JL. If I was in the same boat $$ would probably be a big driver for me too. Good luck either way!

Not sure why, but this thing keeps trying to multi-quote, when I'm only trying to quote one source. I keep erasing it, it keeps adding. About time for a restart.
Same, then I can't figure out how to delete a reply I've decided not to send.

How do you get it to not quote something you didn't want to quote in the first place? Totally didn't want the first person in the quote. But when I quoted the other person, it dragged someone else's post into the replay.

I'll get it next time if I have to erase half the reply!

If you only want to quote one person, just hit Reply. That's what I did here.

My 2023 Rubicon 6-spd manual never had the recall done and I never had ANY issues with it. I sold it a couple weeks ago for a 2026 with SOT. The clutch in the 2026 feels completely different to the 2023. I would not buy a Jeep with an automatic transmission. To me the manual transmission is just part of driving a Jeep. All 5 of my Jeep have been manual transmission. They did good with any redesign they did. If you drive in traffic jams regularly I would suggest that you rent a manual JLU, if you can find one and drive it in traffic...

I'm assuming you're referring to the "bucking" or hesitation, then full-on of the MT while in 1st gear in traffic and giving it a little gas. I actively tried not to idle in 1st in traffic. That was irritating as all get out. Brad's tune took care of that too. Now I can idle along in 1st around 3 mph, give it a little gas and let off. Jeep accelerates and decelerates smoothly. No more hesitation or bucking.

I'm having to forget all the quirky things I did to drive the MT before Brad's tune.
