It's a good photo, but I don't like how they confuse what they're selling by overlapping it with a bumper-based light bar.

I think this one gives a more honest depiction of the product...
(Not that they were trying to be dishonest or anything.)

The Quadratec grill is an abomination, everyone knows Jeeps have round headlights…..

Just in case someone actually fell in love with this little monster, I wanted to point out that the JL variety is available over on eBay.

When searching eBay for grilles, you can cut out a lot (but not all) of the junk items (including inserts) by using this exact search phrase:

wrangler jl (grille,grill) -insert -inserts -pieces -cover -carbon -mesh -trim -light -lights -"for jeep wrangler 18"​

Sort the output by price, highest to lowest.

Speaking of monsters, if you use that search criteria, you should find one of these for $50 and another for $57 and $87 shipped.

I think it's ugly as sin, but for the price, hey...

BTW... I think I found a stock Mopar grille listed at Walmart for $79 shipped. Someone might want to double check that this is the right part number. Seems like a good deal if it is.

Lots of room to experiment and paint and go wild with custom mods at no risk to your existing grille.

No denying it. The Wrangler grill is attractive and it has the best story to go along with it. But there are those of us who do hear the call of the unique and the interesting. Like Oracle Lighting's spider-faced grille:

Perhaps hideous AND interesting in equal measure. Say what you will, it's the modern appearance that really works for me. I love the crazy good cyberpunk feel of this one too, but I just can't just ditch my existing headlights for it.

I'm not after something that makes a statement, but at the same time, I don't mind it. Otherwise, I'd be chasing down a skirt kit and some extreme negative camber...

A jeep locally by me has this grill. Different yes, its stands out but hideous. It's not a jeep anymore.

All joking aside, I was on the development side of this product and I can tell you that this project was never about making a "cool/attractive/iconic grill" our teams focus was always on creating a functional lighting system to give the driver the best possible level of adjustability and visibility for night time driving.

What tends to happen is that Jeep owners lift their Jeeps, they put on bigger tires and adjust the headlights down to compensate for it. What they are doing is decreasing their range of visibility while, at the same time, increasing their stopping distance. So, we spent over a year trying to develop a round light that could have the driving beam, low beam, and high beam all adjusted independently- to essentially solve this issue. We could not do it, the 7”/9" footprint is a very small space to work in and is very constraining, so we thought “what if we had no constraints”. When you look at this grill your first impression is that this is just an aesthetic modification designed to make the Jeep look different.

By separating the pair of round lights into 8 separate modules and relocating those modules in optimal positions we are able to provide increased, focused light without the glare. At the same time, we add a distinctive Daytime Running Light which already has proven safety benefits.

So what do all of these separate modules do? The lower modules are the low beam and create a wider periphery of light while the driving beam is a concentrated light that shoots far down the road in a tighter, controlled manner. The high beam is less controlled, it provides light to illuminate the surrounding area and has a higher emitting level. The factory halogen lights have been the same basic design since the 1940’s and attempted to do all of this precise focusing with 1 single bulb.

I found that EAG offers a kit where you can retrofit JK style turn signals onto your existing JL grille. It does involve sawing/cutting, so it isn't for the faint of heart.

You can get it at ViciousOffroad for $28... but they add shipping. You can also get them on eBay for $30 shipped. Keywords: "eag turning signal".

Does NOT include bulbs, sockets, or wiring... so this is VERY DIY.

Mm. I prefer the clean, embellishment-free design of the JL's grille to that of the JK, encumbered as it was with turn signals and the embossed "Jeep" glued on at the top.
