On my 2021 Sport S, I have the manual climate control. On the dial that controls the 'position' of the vents, it 'clicks' into spots that do not align with the actual images showcasing the positions - for example, it has a position between just front vents and front vents and floor vents. What is the purpose of those 'mid' positions? Do they serve a purpose?

I’ve had vehicles with similar in the past. It was like a partial spilt. Like between vents and floor was more vent than floor air flow. But I’ve also seen where it didn’t do anything until you got to the actual setting at the image.

While parked Set it to partial and fan on high. Then get out of the Jeep and put your hand down in the floor board and feel around near the vent and see if you feel air flow.

It will just do more 'upper' or more 'lower' depending upon what image it's closer too. Just think of it like the old school slider where you are physically moving a baffle that directs the air to the vents. As you move it more and more air gets directed more towards the zone you are approaching. This is just doing it electronically.

So if you start on upper, 100% air goes there. Now move between that and upper/lower and you get maybe get 75% upper and 25% lower. Now move to upper/lower and should be 50% each zone. Now move between upper/lower and lower and now you should be at 25% upper and 75% lower. Lastly move to lower and should be 100%.

Make sense? Lol... I think I just confused myself now! :)

That makes perfect sense - it seems to work that way. Thanks!
