Long time lurker, only recently joined.

Bought my JL in February and its been fairly uneventful until now. On Saturday I parked my jeep after a 45 minute drive, attempted to start it on Sunday less than 24 hours later. Dead as a door nail. Got some jumper cables and waited about 5 minutes to attempt to start it. Push the button and fired up, but everything was warning lights and disabled notifications.

I then let it run for about two hours and drove it 45 minutes and put it on a trickle charger overnight. Starts now just fine however since the jump start I have no climate control available at all.

Since it was jumped, none of the button controls work, none of the radio screen buttons work for climate control. Heated seats and steering wheel works. The "on" button the radio does nothing. I have shut the jeep off and back on many times, but this has not provided any luck.

One thing I have noticed is my dash lights and shifter lights do not turn off when the vehicle is parked and turned off, with or without the key near the jeep. I have gone out hours after turning it off and the lights remain on.

I have searched the forum and google but no luck there either.

I have called three dealerships in the area and none can get me in until next week.

my two concerns are;

1. No climate control (fuse?)
2. Whats draining the battery? (dash lights)

@Rubi04TJ; I agree with checking fuses. Also try resetting the computer...

Also, you did set an appointments for one of those dealerships right? Always a chance it could be something complex.

Silly question but how exactly did you connect the jumper cables? It is possible to cause harm to your electronics if you don't follow Positive (doner) -> Positive (jump) -> Negative (jump) -> Ground (doner). I agree with TA1ton that you should try resetting your computer.

Yes, went thru and checked fuses, nothing out of the ordinary there. Jumped the vehicle correctly as I have many years in depth mechanics. Have not attempted to disconnect the batteries for a period of time to reset the computer.

Disconnecting the battery is something I have not done with this dual battery system and honestly not something I know how to do as there is so much miss information about how to do it.

I'd take it to the dealer and let them figure it out.

Just noticed that ESS is not working either, no errors or warning lights for it being off. I can click the button and it says "off" on the display but thats all.

To answer a earlier question, yes I did make a appointment for next monday as that was the earliest they had.

There are two cables connected to the main battery negative terminal. One connects to the aux battery, the other is the body ground. If you disconnect the body ground wire, it disconnects both batteries. When I tested this, it did seem to take a while (minutes, not seconds) to drain down.

I would do try to Kill 12v power before taking to the dealer.

So after disconnecting the battery positive terminal and the two cables bolted on the fender wall right behind the battery and letting it sit for ten minutes I reattached everything. I started the jeep and climate control and worked again as well as ESS. Noticed a couple things.

1. SirusXM was not on the menu, didn't work... Only after a complete off, open door and restart did it come back.
2. While watching the amperage/charge rate of the vehicle in the off-road pages on my drive home it was a constant 13.9-14.1, this leads me to believe that the battery is still draining when the jeep is turned off. Jeep was off for about 12 hours since the disconnect.
3. Dash lights and shifter lights are no longer on once leaving the vehicle.

Gonna watch the progress of the charge and may still take it to the dealer if that doesn't correct itself.
