I love a stock Jeep... but I also like to add my own touch. The largest mods I made were replacing the bumpers, adding a few lights, & the wheels are next in a week. No lift or monster truck tires for me.

It’s kinda like people asking why I have so many tattoos... I tell them the body is a temple, but sometimes you want to hang a few pictures.

A few lights, pffft, I got Griswald DNA. I want the ISS to see me driving down country roads! That's about all I do to my Jeeps, decals and lights. I too love the look of a stock Jeep, but love to see it get personalized.

For any truck or Jeep I own, I always eventually add a modest lift and slightly bigger tires. 35s are about the biggest I'll ever go for a street vehicle practically speaking.

Beyond that I always like to have a winch and recovery gear. Maybe some skid plates.

I'm not interested in a huge custom rig on 40" tires or anything. I like off roading to get to cool places. Not off roading just for the fun of off roading. Not saying there's anything wrong with that.

I use to have a XJ Cherokee that at one point was pretty well built. It could go almost anywhere. But at the end of the day, it wasn't fun to drive anywhere but the trail, and I spent way too much money on it vs the fun I got out of it .

for some reason I keep my vehicles longer when they are stock (go figure?), when I do a lot of modding I seem to loose interest in it or change the character, and once you start its hard to stop sometimes. :CWL::jk:
Interesting. There have been times in the past I've done something like (for example) change the exhaust and later find myself waxing eloquently about how nice and quiet the stock exhaust was. Wheel upgrades I never regret, but I am quite fond of the stock Rubi wheels & tires so no temptation there. I've gone back and forth on bumpers (really like the Go Rhino Rockline full width front and rear bumpers) but am currently not planning on doing them. We'll see how long that holds if I find myself with an extra grand with nothing to do. But that would be the extent.

I'm looking at that bumper also. If it's the one I'm thinking of, it has the spots for a light bar and 4 cube lights. That way I'll get the benefit of the extras lights but not worry about trying to find mounting brackets that aren't hideous.

That's the one! (Pic below is NOT my jeep!)

I'm sort of a hybrid.

I have a 2.5" spacer lift and 315/70/17 tires but everything I tried to do is to keep a mostly stock look. So I added some stock parts like Rubi rails, Rubi wheels, and stuck with the BFG KO2's. The tires fit perfectly in the stock fenders and don't stick out.

Flatfenders, 35's, 4.88's, Torsen locker and muffler delete.

Glock perfection.

Thanks for posting this... it’s exactly what I want for my Rubicon.

Am I the only one that finds an element of beauty in a base stripped down wrangler with the little tires? Purest maybe? Every time I see a non messed with YJ zipping through traffic in pure base trim, little wheels/tires, naked with half doors and top off (Jurassic park style) it looks like the funnest little whip on the road. And probably even funner to wheel with! Like someone posted above after having a heavily built rig and I got beyond the cool look factor it became less than fun to drive around on the road and boring wheeling. Like playing a video game with cheat codes, invincibility or endless lives. Takes the fun out of it.

My only mods so far are new tires & wheels, Mopar Gas Door, Mopar locking gas cap keyed to Jeep key. Just turned 500 miles, so for now I'm going to drive it and enjoy it until my bank account recovers from the tires and wheels, then more mods to come.

The only thing I have done to my Sport S so far is add a set of side steps and added a set of Rubi takeoff wheels and tires. I'm looking for a set Rubi Steel bumbers for the next mod.
I have the same JL 2 door in a sport the same color , just scored a great deal on a set of five stock Rubi wheels and tires, I have not put them on yet , I would like to see a picture of yours . Thanks

I put a shorty antenna on mine. That's really it so far.

One of these days I'd love some take-off Rubi rock rails, and maybe some auxiliary lighting, but realistically I don't need any of that.

I actually have optional Rubi wheels. I think they look so much better with the Punk'n paint then the stock Sport S wheel do.
