So I just installed my Stinger Heigh10 and updated the firmware yesterday and everything is up and running except the climate controls screen. All cameras, factory rear, aftermarket front and left and right all work. Vehicle can bus data works all gauges work wheel controls and HVAC controls work. But the climate APP in the Heigh10 does not show up. So i can't tell where my temp is, nor my fan speeds or which vents are blowing. I called Stinger a couple times and they are not sure why it's not working. I have factory reset the radio, disconnected both vehicle batteries to do a reset and nothing works.

After watching this stinger video here at 16 seconds...

I think they are saying IT ONLY WORKS IF YOU HAVE AUTO AC. I do not have auto temp I am a lowly Sport with manual controls.
This sucks. I cant believe that 2 of their techs didn't know this.

I am not giving up though. They should be able to support it in software because the factory uconnect can. Seems like a bug to me.

I also may go the "upgrade" route and pick up a Auto-AC control head and the daylight sensor and temp sensor off ebay and try to upgrade it. And I have to build wire harnesses cause mine doesnt have them. I do have jscan so i may also just try to force a dualzone switch with the current control head and maybe that will trick the stupid Heigh10 into thinking it is auto as well?

I am going to call back and complain to Stinger on Monday but all in all I think they are being shady on their claims of compatibility at the least.

Update: Spoke with what seemed to be a knowledgeable tech at Stinger this morning. They indicated this is a 2022 Sport Non Auto AC issue because the 22's are different than 18-21s apparently. They are aware and working on a firmware update to address. I guess the on screen features of the non auto AC on the newer Jeeps is new and the Stinger firmware is trying to catch up.
So for those with a 2022 or greater lowly base Sport model without Automatic AC you will lose all Heat and AC indications if you put in a Stinger head unit until they get a fix in. You can use all the features with the knobs but you will not know if it is hot or cold or what the fan speed is or which vents are open...

Did you try making the switch on the Jscan? I was going to try that and see if it works.

Yea unfortunately tried that and it didnt work. I tried several settings in Jscan and let each setting "settle" for a day or so to see if it would take. I am leaning towards finding a cheap ebay manual controls with lights on the knob control head and popping that in until Stinger updates the firmware.

In the end I would like to do the auto temp control update but I dont want to wire and put in the sensors and it ends up not working. I am not sure how 22 Sports take the mod? I know some have had success with 18-21's but some have not.
So for now I am getting really good at memorizing the cycle of feet/face vent setting and how many clicks I need to do and temp is either cold or full hot!

Just installed this on my 22 without auto climate and have missing climate app. Was the firmware ever update to fix this? Any work around to see temp and fan speed?

Nope that is from Jan 11. I have that firmware. Confirmed with Stinger it does not work and waiting for them to fix it the last 5 months.

If you click through from the page you posted to the actual firmware file you can see the date 1-11-23.

Wait I just found this link on that page too that says it fixes it? Let me try that. Seems to be a patch vs full firmware so gotta figure out hot to install it...

OMG this works. So when I called Stinger, which was in Feb I am pretty sure, they said they were waiting on a radio firmware and to check that link above. On stingers page, well they never updated the radio firmware since Jan. The firmware you said to check, which was the upper link at PAC, updates the PAC box and sure enough after updating it and a couple reboots, it works now!

Crap does anybody wanna buy a manual control head that is still shipping from ebay now? :(

Curious, did you loose the option of a compass displayed in your engine cluster display....
N, S, E, W?

I was told if you remove Uconnect that for some reason compass will no longer display by speedometer display?

Not talking about compass in Heigh10 display.

great, I'm so glad it works! I'm at work so I have not had a chance to try it. I've only had my radio installed 1 full day, so I have never had to try to update this and I do not see any youtube vids but from what I can figure out, I need to do the update from my computer and plug it into the unit itself behind the screen, no via USB port, correct?

Yes you have to pull the display off. Plug in a mini usb cable from your computer with the pac updater software into the big Pac module not the mini one. Power on the jeep. The software should go from not connected to connected. I think at this point there was a click sound and the display turned off. Flash the new firmware file by opening it in the pac updater. It takes a little bit so be patient until it says complete. Power off the jeep, unplug the usb cable. Open and close the door and wait for a minute or so to get the radio to completely turn off. Hop back in and power it on and should boot up. I think I had to reboot it one more time before the climate icon showed on the main screen? Then put it all back together. It takes like 10 mins and works.
