Stinger Heigh 10 HDMI

Hey all. I have an ‘18 jlu sport,. I got the stinger heigh 10 radio and wanted to know if there was a setting that would allow me to watch something through the hdmi cable while driving? Currently i need the handbrake on to watch anything. Not trying to hotspot anything, just plug my phone in and play a movie. Any thoughts?

I don't have personal experience with this particular unit, but what you are looking for is called "video in motion" and usually involves grounding a cable that would normally detect that your handbrake is activated.

I would recommend you google the radio model and video in motion and I bet you'll find a few folks who figured out what the particular trick is to override it in this headunit.

Just keep in mind the manufacturer is not allowed to build this in or support this as a feature/setting for safety reasons, so you're on your own as far as getting this to work and the risks that come with it.

There is a way... my guy set mine up to do so, ultimately got a HDMI to USB-C sticking out of my trim. Since I've had it, only used it once while driving due to honeymoon phase. Now I just drop my wife at the mall or grocery store while I sit in the car and watch live sports.

Question- I had the stinger put into my 23 Jl after instal they shop told me the following
1- the usb in the center console will no longer work and this is normal with the stinger radio install?

2-They usb and c plug in the dashboard is the factory one and they said these usually don’t work great with the stinger radio so they will need to install a seperate usb plug for me to use Apple play. (Note since the install the usb/c plugs in my dash seem to pulsate for the first few minutes when I start the Jeep and then they will work just fine for charging only but my iPhone won’t work with the Apple play with these plugs) which is why they said I need to add the additional usb plug?

3- I noticed my radio can barely get 2/3 stations now when trying to listen to the radio they said that’s normal with this radio.

4- I noticed the emergency lights up by my visors for road side are always lite up red now?

Has anyone else who had this radio installed seen or had any of these issues? Thank you, I’m taking it back to go over these issues.
