We had two agreements with Canada and Mexico the first one was NAFTA and that was replaced by USMCA.
Not sure why those agreements were not suffice for the current administration.
I could go on but this is a JEEP forum.

Simple. A tax, a tariff, or a regulation, etc. is passed by politicians, and people will find a way to get around it so as not to pay. This has been happening since our founding.

It just happens to be that countries who have been ripping us off for years are currently in the crosshairs instead of the middle class.

Why the panic?
Not the first or last time Stellantis is laying people off. They did in late 2023 and in 2024.
As for the market, it's been ripe for adjustment. Investors were looking for excuse to skim the fat off of the top and this is it.

So Stellantis will stop building in Mexico and do that instead in the US, and people are upset?!?

TDS is so powerful with some that now everybody is an expert economist. 🤣🤣🤣
Who's going to pay for Stellantis' new factory and the cost of Americans making all the cars Stellantis formerly produced in Mexico (or Canada)

As the result of liberation day, 900 stellantis workers got liberated. I'm pretty it was on 4/2 instead of 4/1 is because no one with the right mind would believe it's real. And here we are. The biggest joke actually came after April fools day.

Can’t really reply as my hands are tied because of the forum rules.
But there is nothing to discuss as you are currently very happy with the current situation.
And anyone who disagrees with your way of thinking is ā€œgaslightingā€œ or been brainwashed buy the media.

There are 2 strains if TDS. This is the other:

TRUMP DENIAL SYNDROME
Trump Denial Syndrome is manifested by excusing any and all behavior by their leader. Any wrongdoing, even after verifiable evidence, is immediately dismissed.
Fearing any information that may contradict their leader, they simply refuse to view it and often react with anger and name calling.
Trump Denial Syndrome adherents identity becomes wrapped up in their allegiance to their leader, who to them can do no wrong, so challenging them is almost impossible.
Believing the truth would acknowledge that they've been lied to, and that would diminish both their hero and their self esteem.
Haha, You are describing every news room and talk show set that I walked into for the last 30+ years, but instead of TDS, it was a more generic denial syndrome.

To sum it up, Trump can do no right, and Clinton could do no wrong. Every other president varied, depending on where they were on the spectrum.

It will be a bumpy ride for awhile, but it will settle out for our benefit. Foreign investment money has been pouring in to move factories (and jobs) here instead of being overseas. If this succeeds in replacing federal income taxes for most of us, even better.
Wow, you are seriously delusional. What color is the sky in your world?

Best,
-Tim

No other POTUS brainwashed his supporters into believing that everything negative that is written about him is fake news.
You all own that one.
And I voted for him in 2016.

I didn’t say I was happy or unhappy.

My statement about the media is due to 30+ years of experience in the industry. If someone disagrees, that’s ok. Show me where I am wrong about what I said instead of posting pictures of crying babies. The whole point of a discussion is to learn from each other.

I have been attacked personally by a few people here, but it doesn’t bother me because they have not given an example of where I am wrong. I can’t help it if someone’s feelings are hurt because they don’t agree.
