I don't see any upside to DIY working on an airbag system. Lots of possibilities for bad things for everyone involved, including subsequent owners and your personal financial health.

But, here's what I can dig up in my manual.

First there will not be subsequent owners, second we have over $25G invested beyond the vehicle, third we're not circumventing any airbag system. We are simply trying to get her back on the road legal...

There are always subsequent owners. Trying to save money on this says you won't toss away residual value when you are done with it. If you sell it, that's a whole different level of potential negligence. You didn't even have the manual on how to replace it properly and test it.

I have well past $35K in my rig in addition to the purchase price. That fact has little to do with whether I sell it or not. It's about recovering residual value, when I'm done with it.

WEll there's the difference I/we don't plan on being done with it...

Has anyone replaced the steering wheel airbag? I have to replace mine on a wrecked 21 rubicon, along with the driver seat belts which are locked up. Trying to find out if the airbag control module needs replacing as well. Not finding any info. Was looking to see if anyone on here has replaced theirs?
thanks!

Hello I am currently trying to replace the airbag in my 2020 and cannot find anything about how to do it myself. Do you have any suggestions on how you did yours?

Got my seatbelt back from myairbags.com. They were really quick and easy to deal with. I do have a question, I haven’t gotten the steering wheel airbag, is it ok to go ahead and install the searbelt?
I can disconnect the battery, just don’t want to set off the seatbelt and lock it up.
Hey! I just recently grabbed a 2019 Wrangler from the auction. Both driver and passenger bags blown. What would you recommended as the parts list to get these changed out? Did you DIY yours? I can’t find anyone willing to change these out in my area!

it’s fairly simple to replace, YouTube has a video on removal, I did have to buy new connectors, the old ones seemed to be glued in, also the airbag module under the pass seat will have to be sent off to be reprogrammed. Use myairbags . Com, they have what you need and can answer anymore questions
