It means its a twintube hydraulic shock that does not exert a force in either direction. It only reacts to forces, unlike BIlstein/Fox/King monotube (non-ATS) stabilizers which are actively extending (pushing outwards) in one direction.

That happens with Monotubes because there is a nitrogen pocket created by the internal floating piston that is trying to force fluid from one end of the shock to the other constantly. This is great for the corners of the suspension, but not for a steering setup. That is why Through Shaft stabilizers are becoming a big thing, and why Dual Steering Stabilizer kits were created even before that.

Thanks a ton.. Steersmarts just started selling one for the JLU kit I bought, so I might pick it up.. Appreciate the technical explanation.. Great info..
