Steering Rack Noise

Developed a cracking or popping sound in my steering rack. Any guesses how serious the issue is? I am 2,300mi from home and will be traveling for another 9 weeks.

All of the above has been on for 2+ years, 25,000mi without issue.

Hard to tell in the short clip but the upper drag link boot doesn’t look to good, unless it just dirt and grime.

Any noticeable changes to steering feel?

I’d try to find an off-road shop or similar to double check torque on the front steering/suspension components as well as the torque on the ball joints. Keep us updated on your findings.

Thanks for the reply. It looks like the drag link and tie rod ends are all in need of replacing and the steering rack is fine. Ordered them today and hope to find a way to get them installed in the coming week.
