  1. 4LO and Brakes

Iā€™m pretty sure when I activate the Offroad+ it tells me it disables the traction control. It definitely controls the brakes. I can hear the drivers front caliper/rotor working at a hard left turn. So that could be the overheating issue experienced in the past. I guess an ABS bleed is in...
  2. 4LO and Brakes

    Nope. Roll on
  3. 4LO and Brakes

    No
  4. 4LO and Brakes

What about the Off Road+ buttton? I usually hit it when I drop t9 4LO but Iā€™m now wondering if it is applying the brakes at times. What exactly does that do?
  5. 4LO and Brakes

No signs of fluid leak. Reservoir is topped up and brakes were completely flushed and bled several times. Iā€™ve been Offroad a few times since that work. Things work fine under moderate trails but under severe work this issue appears.
  6. 4LO and Brakes

The pedal is firm and under great pressure slowly goes to the floor.
  7. 4LO and Brakes

You all may be right. Flipping to neutral could be an option and Iā€™ll certainly give it a try. I thought about bigger brakes but Iā€™m not sold they are needed. Started a trail this morning, Cliff Hanger, and the drop in was too much for my confidence.
  8. 4LO and Brakes

So I hate my brakes when off-roading in 4LO. Pedal goes all the way to the floor and on steep declines barely holding on. I had some brake fade last year after a long day on the Rubicon but this is different, I have bled all the fluid and upgraded to a higher temp fluid. It almost feels like...
  9. Fox 2.5 Remote Mounting

Thanks. Your is hidden pretty well. It looks like that is the only real option. I will modify the bumper and create some more protection. I hate to do it because 8njust had all my Cavab bumpers parts sand blasted and powdercoated.
  10. Fox 2.5 Remote Mounting

Anyone have a good solution for mounting the front remote cans on Fox 2.5 shocks? their instructions put them vertical behind the bumper in a place just behind my skid plate. I can see them getting smashed pretty easily. Canā€˜t mount them higher horizontally as the sway bar would hit them. I...
  11. Brake Fade - Soft Pedal

^^This^^ We were on the Rubicon and thatā€™s exactly what we experienced. No doubt the 6-8 hours a day of crawling never gave them a brake . We debated bleeding them but decide the problem would probably be back soon so we pumped on.
  12. Brake Fade - Soft Pedal

I was doing that the second day where I could, but it was so up and down it wasnā€™t a lot. thanks for the insight. I run a light truck pad, Hawk I think. I hadnā€™t considered the rubber brake lines. Iā€™ve checked the clearance on them but upgrading while flushing fluid is a good idea. Some...
  13. Brake Fade - Soft Pedal

At times a lot, like on/off for 15 of 20 minutes. I just canā€™t envision crawling adding that kind of heat to boil the fluid but maybe thatā€™s it.
  14. Brake Fade - Soft Pedal

Spent a couple long days on tough trail with a group. All three JL based rigs had brake fade and required pumping the brakes often to get a solid pedal. Iā€™m wondering if 4LO and manual shifting somehow engages the brakes to control the speed. Spent hours in M1 and M2. I never used hills...
  15. Steering Rack Noise

Thanks for the reply. It looks like the drag link and tie rod ends are all in need of replacing and the steering rack is fine. Ordered them today and hope to find a way to get them installed in the coming week.
  16. Steering Rack Noise

Developed a cracking or popping sound in my steering rack. Any guesses how serious the issue is? I am 2,300mi from home and will be traveling for another 9 weeks. FYI Redneck Ram Doesch Offroad 2-1/2T Alum Steering RCVā€™s All of the above has been on for 2+ years, 25,000mi without issue. thanks!
  17. Brake Boost P258B

Swapped out the Brake Booster CHeck Valve...nothing
  18. Brake Boost P258B

Jumped in the rig yesterday, brake pedal hard and grinding and barely stoppingā€¦. Pulled code P258B Electric Vacuum Pump. Checked Fuse 35 and it was good. Disconnected all brake related electrical connections and reconnected, nothing. Should I breakdown and spend $200 on a Vacuum Pump? Thanks
  19. ABS Sensor Source

Theyā€™re not available. They all use a third party source and just list them as stock.
