Sounds like you got a good dealership.'21 JLUR w/ 35k. Took mine last Monday had a 10a appointment. Hour later done and inspection was ok, passed. Tech sent a video of the walk around while I waited and advisor checked on me twice. Slow morning I guess. No complaints for that day.
I received my recall letter last week, and had the Jeep at the dealer yesterday morning for the related appt. How many of you have received their offical recall notice for the steering pump fire issue?
Nothing other than the recall will hang open. Ive done my own inspection and passed. Not worth its own trip. They can officially clear it someday when its in for something else or when i sell it and no longer care about it.So what's to stop us from doing our own inspection? I'm under the Jeep on a regular basis. The horror stories of dealer ineptitude keep me far away from them.
I have my inspection scheduled for next week. They want it for 3 days. Loaner vehicle would make it 4 months out for the appointment. I'm guessing I'll drop it off and before I get home they'll call me back and say it doesn't need it.
The recall notice says to scan for a specific code related to the power steering. Item 7 on page 5.For some reason they also read the codes from the OBD. Freaked me out as I had the VScan attached.
