'21 JLUR w/ 35k. Took mine last Monday had a 10a appointment. Hour later done and inspection was ok, passed. Tech sent a video of the walk around while I waited and advisor checked on me twice. Slow morning I guess. No complaints for that day.

So what's to stop us from doing our own inspection? I'm under the Jeep on a regular basis. The horror stories of dealer ineptitude keep me far away from them.

Sounds like you got a good dealership.

I received my notice last week, called Folsom Lake CDJR and scheduled the service for this morning, 8/3/26. Took them under 90 minutes and was out the door.

My notice came last week. I'm stopping in today for the check on it.

How many of you have received their offical recall notice for the steering pump fire issue?
I received my recall letter last week, and had the Jeep at the dealer yesterday morning for the related appt.

The dealer had actually called me last week, just after I received the letter, wanting to set up an appt. for this matter. Good for them for being proactive here.

All good; no problems found, not were any parts replacements required. I'm told the relevant dealer employee will update the vehicle's VIN record accordingly.

Nothing other than the recall will hang open. Ive done my own inspection and passed. Not worth its own trip. They can officially clear it someday when its in for something else or when i sell it and no longer care about it.

I have my inspection scheduled for next week. They want it for 3 days. Loaner vehicle would make it 4 months out for the appointment. I'm guessing I'll drop it off and before I get home they'll call me back and say it doesn't need it.

Took my 24 Rubicon X in last week. Was only there for 1 hour. Found no problem. Stated on my copy of work order, 20 minute time charge for inspection!

Interesting thought based on an earlier post. So we have a new tech checking out the recall and gives it the “all ok” no new part needed. Now you park your jeep back in your garage or wherever and it catches fire. Obviously Jeep is on the hook after tons of paperwork they (Ins) makes you right after an extended fight.
Is there any way we as owners can “trust but verify” the “check”.

It was a 20 minute stop for me yesterday. They said they've done several inspections now, but only caught one that needed the recall fix. They had the part(s) in 2 or 4 days, and out of the shop the day they got them. I forgot to ask if they kept it at the shop or not.

I also asked again about the RFH update for security, and they said they are ready to do it anytime. I think I might buy one more fob to have on hand, as my wife has lost keys/fobs from 2 vehicles before.

For some reason they also read the codes from the OBD. Freaked me out as I had the VScan attached.

The recall notice says to scan for a specific code related to the power steering. Item 7 on page 5.
