It’s a leased vehicle, we obviously aren’t paying for this, and we are getting nowhere while paying for a vehicle we can’t drive on the highway
Certainly up to you, but $150 would be worth it to me just to not go to a dealer, lol.

Either it is a problem worth solving, or it isn't.

Had the same situation with my wife's 21 4xe right around 19k miles. Got the steering damper replaced by the dealership and it fixed the problem. Around 25k they also had to retorque the ball joints but I'm pretty sure they were also a bit loose prior to that. At about 28k now and all is still well.

My 21 4xe never had the damper replaced to my knowledge but the previous owner had the ball joints retorqued at about 5k. Running 35's and a 2.5" lift now and steering is still rock solid.

That’s on you, you aren’t willing to actually get it fixed then trade it for a Prius. It amazes me how many people buy Jeeps that don’t know how to turn a wrench.

My BJ nuts were loose, torqued them a couple hundred miles in. They were likely always loose, there are cotter pins that prevent back off.

Correct, I probably should have said "had them properly torqued" rather than "re-torqued", lol. I can't speak for mine since it was prior to me owning it, but my wife's eventually developed a popping noise that was only noticeable when she would back up and turn the wheel but that was the only indication and it's been silent since the ball joints were addressed.
