YES!!! Started at about 6000 miles. Mentioned it to the dealer when I brought in for oil change. They said its "initial moisture" that burns off after a few braking sessions. That seems like weird answers to me however... Doesn't happen every time and it seems like its only first thing and doesn't happen after driving for 10 minutes. Squeak shouldn't happen unless something is wrong? They measured the brake pads and looked the discs and they are normal.

I hate the "that's normal" answer, there's nothing normal about a new car with squeaky brakes, why should I have to drive around for 10 minutes to get rid of an annoying sound?? why can't I just go from point A to point B without the embarrassing attention... @JeepCares

I agree. It wasn't normal when I bought the Jeep or for the first 5,999 miles...... now its normal..... Wonder if we did car payments that way. You pay for the first few months and then stop - then they call you and you say "This is totally normal, I don't pay bills higher than $1 after the first few months. You'll get used to it and you wont notice it anymore."

4000km on it and started squeaking at low speeds, especially when when taking off or slowing down at red lights. Goes away after a few squeaks and comes back in a few hours.

I was at the dealership getting my radio replaced - see Uconnect issues for that thread - but I asked the service manager regarding the brakes squeaking. Mine have been squeaking in the morning at first start or after the car has been sitting for a while. But it only does it initially and then goes away. Apparently a customer w/ a new jeep like mine (under 2k miles) had just left with the same issue, they pulled his tires off and checked the brakes and found nothing but brake dust. Nothing wrong with the brakes/pads/rotors. The service manager told me that the new brake pads installed in the new Jeeps are different then the old, they are environmentally friendly so lacking a few elements that used to prevent the heavy buildup of brake dust, but apparently last longer and better for the environment. The unfortunate side effect is that after a day of building up brake dust, letting it settle down overnight especially, the next day will be a little squeaky at the beginning. I am just quoting the dealership, so don't hold those sentences against me. It may be a line of BS, who knows, but that's what I was told. If that's the truth, then from what I would deduce, there really is no solution unless you spray some chemicals here and there to get the brake dust off, or replace your pads with performance pads or a different type of ceramic coated pads.
But according to the dealership, there is no harm being caused to the brake system. But I agree, pretty annoying and embarrassing when you are coming to a slow stop and people are around you.

Hello All,
I understand how frustrating this may be. For those of you that have not been to the dealer yet, please make an appointment to get your vehicle diagnosed. If you would like to follow up with us after your dealer visit, feel free to send us a private message.

Try going and heating them up. Find an empty road and do several 60-10mph stops until they're hot, then let them cool without stopping. I suspect that the noise will go away.

Exactly the same issues. The service guy told me all vehicles do that. I gave up arguing and figure I won't be buying MOPAR replacement pads when the time comes.

I have 12,000 miles on my 2018 wrangler jl
And when I press the brakes to make a sudden stop at slow speeds sounds like heavy creaking u would hear from an old car , in reverse it makes no noise and when I press brakes softly it’s fine but sudden stops or a heavy stop - not a retarded pound the brakes stop but just pressure enough to make a sudden stop if that makes sense etc it creaks like the suspension is gonna fall off of a rusty old car from the 80,s - I called my mechanic friend and he said I probably have something wedged in there or a cover might be rubbing hard to tell - any thoughts ? Anyone else ?
