I picked up a pair of these for a good price but have a couple of questions for those who have these or used a similar aftermarket diff cover. The Spicer video indicates NOT to use the included bolts if I'm using the factory gasket over the provided sealant because the bolts will not be long enough. I'd definitely prefer to use the gasket over the sealant. I'm also assuming the factory diff bolts will also be too short for the nodular iron covers. For maximum strength I think a class 12.9 bolt would be great, but I'm having a hard time finding 12.9 in anything other than a hex socket head cap bolt. What kind of hardware have you all used for your aftermarket diff covers?

FYI - I did decide on these after verifying that Rancho does not yet have a RockGEAR diff skid available for the 24 and up JL. I loved the Rancho RockGEAR diff skid on my 2019 JLUR. I'm not as worried about a skid on the 2025 since these diffs no longer have the oil drain plug on the bottom that can be damaged.

Part of their purpose is the added rigidity to the housing. You'll want to have these mate metal to metal to take full advantage of the added rigidity.

You won't need grade 12.9 bolts for a diff cover. The housing threads can't even support anything close to that strength if you hit it hard enough. Use regular grade 8 bolts or 10 bolts and you'll be good to go if you use the gasket. Otherwise, I'd just use what comes with the cover and mount it straight to the housing. For as often as the pumpkin gets opened up, this won't be an issue. It will also eliminate another gap to get caught on when playing in the rocks.

Thank you Shawn. I also just found this thread regarding bolts snapping off at the factory torque spec hence my concern about the hardware.
