Ordered speaker upgrade parts yesterday for my 2019 2 door with factory Alpine stereo.

-Metra JP-1014 Speaker pods for front dash
-SSV Works JJT-SA065 speaker adaptor for sound bar
-PAC AmpPro AP4-CH41 R.2
-Alpine R-S65C.2 for front (I'll mount the tweeters in the original upper dash speaker location)
-Alpine R-S65C.2 for sound bar
-Alpine R-A60F Amplifier

Looking forward to installing the project in the next few weeks.
You will love those Alpine Type-R 6.5's I had them in my Cherokee XJ.

Anyone have a rec. for just mid bass no tweeter. I have too much tweeters going in so I ordered a l7 and the entra 6.5 knee panel. Just need to find the right speaker to push more bass then vocal.

I installed them in a little Saturn Sky with the correct 2 channel Alpine amp a couple of years ago. The sound was amazing when you match them with the correct power. My goal is to double that Saturn Sky installation (2X the power and 2X the speakers) in the Jeep.

Ok, so I got to reading this thread and it got kind of long so I skipped to the end.
So I was reading about the Pac Audio AP4 and the JL Fix-86 and I think I got the gist of how they work and why you need it. So I have the upgraded Alpine system and I was thinking about how to keep my factory amp and just use the Metra kick panel kit and the SSV adapter for the rollbar and just replacing the factory speakers with some larger speakers at 4ohm instead of factory 8ohm off the factory Alpine amp so I'll get a little louder and a little more clarity. But I also would like to disconnect the factory subwoofer and add on an aftermarket sub amp and custom subwoofer.
How do I keep the factory amp and run an aftermarket sub amp?

Is there a noticeable difference in mid bass? Or any bass? I want to put 45 watts from an aftermarket radio to the 6.5 inch mids but have no clue what to buy. Stuck between 2 kicker 6.5 comprts for bass with an amp. Or 2 mid bass/ components from ct sounds

I gotta say it’s a huge difference and idk why alpine doesn’t switch those knee panels out from the video I saw but what a difference. I put infinity primus 6.5” speakers in and I could turn my factory radio all the way. Sounds like a full sound stage. Process was time consuming but not hard at all. Any rookie can do it. this was easy and well worth it. Metra gives you the instructions and a plug and play harness. If your considering it or want to do it I highly recommend it. I replaced 4 speakers so far all dash and the sound stage is really great!

random question, how much room is there in that dash to hide some micro amps. I am thinking of dome smaller AudioControl acm amplifiers....

https://www.crutchfield.com/S-cqikXpn1AFk/p_161ACM1300/AudioControl-ACM-1-300.html

i need to stash 2-3 of them... 9.5 long by 3.5 wide.

I’d say maybe if there smaller. There is alot of unused space for the right mind On the drivers side idk about passenger and that’s a pretty big amp for the front to hide 3 different places. I would just put them all together in the cubby in the back. Theyd probably fit nicely bolted to the cover or even 2 way or glued. I have a 2 door. I would think with a 4 door you have a lot more options. A friend of mine has the metal cargo covers and he could’ve just popped all his music to the top of it and it would’ve been very clean. I can’t see much space for three 9 inch amps.

I've been watching this thread for about a year now, educating myself and doing every other mod on my Jeep for the last 6 months, kinda avoiding this one. After seeing all the work to disassemble the dash from your pictures I'm motivated now for another project. I just ordered the Metra JP-1014 pods and now starting to look at options for the 6.5" knee speakers. Looks like you only want to do this once in life, so I guess while I'm in there I'll go ahead and wire a new amp and AP4-CH41 R.2 components. I just got the hardtop off and its summertime, so probably will start buying the rest of the more expensive parts over several months and do the actual install when it gets cold again. Looking forward to the challenge and great sound improvements when it's done.

Honestly. I’m 23. Never worked on a Jeep. Only Honda’s. This is easier to pull apart and do. I do recommend a open end 7mm wrench. There’s 4 philips style bolts that where a pain in the ass to get out simply because there in a tight spot. There’s one on each side panel/ bottom of dash and one right next to the obd2 port. Same for passenger side. Would be the only way I found to remove those 3-4 bolts. Other then that a 8mm socket short. 10mm socket short. 13mm socket with about a 6 inch extension. 2 pry tools and about an hour of time and enough space to open both doors. Make sure you polyfill the enclosure as it does make a slight difference. Other then that it sounds great. With an amp even better. Think you’ll be happy. It’s really easy to do just time consuming. It’s not hard at all it took me 2 hours to do cause it was raining and I had to keep stopping untill it slowed. If not I’d give it an hour max. And once you have the speakers in you can always just run an amp to it easily after the wires extend pretty far out

Could use some help with my install. I can’t get my amp, head unit, or PAC AmpPRO to turn on!

- 2019 Jeep Wrangler non-amplified 7”
- Alpine PDX-V9 amp
- Stock head unit
- PAC AmpPRO AP4-CH41 r.2

I’ve connected the power from the battery to the amp, ground wire from amp to a bolt under the driver seat, and turn on lead from the amp to the AmpPRO turn on output wire. The AmpPRO wiring is all connected per the manual. I set dip switch 4 to on, everything else is off per the default. I’ve cycled the car on and off for 30+ minutes. What am I doing wrong here?

Wish I could chime in. Never dealt with any of that. I’m straight aftermarket. I would check the fuses to the headunit. That would be your initial startup power and first in your wiring setup.

I replaced the factory which were not alpine with all kicker speakers

I had to remove the side pieces on the dash for the knee speakers, but were easy to do. I did add an amplifier to the speakers as well, see below:
Speakers:
Kicker DSC 350 x 2-dash and above the head
Kicker 44KSC404 x 2 - knee and above the head
Kicker 11H58 x 2 -150watt powered 8" subwoofers
Kicker DXA500.1 ( 43DXA5001) amp
Did you have to modify the 4 inch speaker mount, in the rollbar, to fit the Kicker 44KSC404, or did they just fit in?
