I have to take my Jeep BACK in next week for them to try to fix this @JeepCares. Is there anything you can do to help them so they don’t have my Jeep for 4days or more
Hi Jlo_1212,

I understand how frustrated you must be to take your Jeep back to the dealer for a recurring concern. We would be happy to look further into this. Please send us a PM with your VIN, mileage, dealer, and appointment to get started.

Hi Darlene,

Please add me as well...I'm having the same issue and getting ready to go on a major road trip. This is going to be extremely annoying. I'll PM you....

@JeepCares , can you open a case for me? I have an appointment to get this fixed next Friday. Can you provide information on how to address the speaker issue so they will know how to address it? The service department explained this is the first time they've heard of the issue and I really don't want them trying to troubleshoot if others have already found the root of the issue, and the solution.

Also I have an issue with my premium soft top, it looks like the cable for the release lever on the passenger side of the vehicle is not attached correctly, so I cannot take my roof down. Can you also put this in there so I can get it taken care of?

Thank you!!!
Hi Jim,

I believe we're communicating with you via private message and will continue assisting from there.

same problem, and i add that just to indicate the increasing number of us that have the issue. i suspect all or almost have the problem but the ones getting it fixed or speaking up are those who it bothers.... we all have a sensitivity level. I too am more likely to pop off the panel and see if i can solve on my own. Great info here on pictures and issue description so i'll bet i can

Got around to taking pics for this today. So I would have rather pulled the dash panel out to remove the speaker, but that looked a bit more complicated than anticipated. There was a screw in a very inaccessible spot, facing inwards towards the passenger seat, and pressing up against the inside of the drivers foot area. There is no way to remove that screw without pulling the entire left side of the dash out.

I ended up just re-foaming this, and doing everything from behind the panel under the steering column. There are 6 press in clips that hold that panel on. Start from the top and work your way down. When re-installing this panel, be sure to place the white clips on the panel itself. It will make life easier.

I circled in red the part behind the speaker that was causing the vibration in my truck. Second pic is a bit of white foam rolled up and stuffed in. Third pic I added an additional bit of adhesive backed foam foil (kinda like dynamat), and a second piece of white foam. The grey clip on top also wants to vibrate, so make sure that is anchored too.

To really get this to act up, you can set your radio to Howard Stern and adjust balance/fader to front left speaker.

Thanks so much Bearcat! Getting ready to try this fix...I got some window seal with adhesive, and some double-stick tape and 1/2" pipe insulation. Do you think either of thee would work.

Also, anyone out there removed the panel beneath the steering column to do this? I'm getting ready to hit the road for a couple weeks and don't want to deal with a loose panel since I probably won't have time to get new clips if I break the existing ones. Any advice will be very appreciated.

Please add me to the list of people that are having trouble with the speakers. Only for talk radio. I listen to podcasts 90% of the time so this is a big deal.

That’s was all my problem too. Fixed by doing the earlier posts!
Help a brother out...how did you get under there without breaking your neck. I can't seem to bend right to even attempt the fix.

Any pictures of your fix? Looking to do this sometime soon but want to make sure I know which plastic pieces to remove what supplies to get. I've heard of about 5+ different fixes and wondering what seems to be holding up best (foam, tape, putty, etc)

I've noticed this on sports radio as well. I'll try the suggested fix this weekend. Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to track down this issue!

I have the same problem. I took it into the dealership before I read this thread, thinking something was wrong with the speaker. After a couple days I got the vehicle back. They replaced the lower speaker left of the steering wheel. Apparently, they didn't test to see if the problem was resolved because it is still there. I got up under the dash and found the culprit that a previous poster had already shown. If I hold my hand on that module then the annoying noise stops. I just can't get in there good enough to get something in there permanently even with that lower panel off. Will see if my wife's small hands are any better at getting it fixed. Thanks for all the info.

Me too. I jammed adhesive foam pads everywhere up there I could reach and it just got worse. .. pulled em out and scheduled dealer service for a couple weeks from now.

I know this is gonna sound crazy but when I told my dealer about this a while back he actually found most of the problem from the driver side cover that covers the door strap and wire harness that little plastic cover he put a couple pieces of foam on the backside and fixed most of my problem
