Sound bar housing

Our Jeep JLU is less than a month old. We took the top off for the first time a few days ago as the weather here in west Michigan turned very beautiful for a few days. In doing so we noticed a large gouge in the top of the soundbar. Took it to dealer who said it’s not covered under warranty. Should that defect be covered?

I doubt any dealer would cover that. They have no way of knowing who caused it.
