Continuing some due-diligence on potential RTT ownership....

If I select this route Im going to be faced with the prospect of mounting/dismounting an RTT by myself. But....my garage is not tall enough for a pulley system to be an option.

So Im wondering if anyone out there has been in this same boat and if so what your solution was.

My initial thought is a modified "ramp" system....think truck-bed ramps. My thoughts are a few rollers on some longer boards would allow me to push the thing up there.

If your Jeep will fit into the garage with the tent installed, you should have plenty of clearance to install 4 eye bolts in the ceiling and just use a couple of ratchet straps to lift it. You only need to go up 2-3”. If it won’t fit, then yeah, some sort of ramp may be your best option if you don’t have another body to give you a hand.

I have what I considered a pretty low ceiling in my garage, I have a townhouse, I used a harbor freight hoist with a wooden frame. I had to mount the hoist on the wall and run the cable to a pulley for everything to clear.

There are some awesome solutions out there but I went with something simple inspired by this post:

I set up a winch system with a boat trailer hand crank winch, but it worries me sometimes.
I think I'm just gonna buy a tractor with a boom on it. I need a tractor anyways.

Wow. Just noticed the dates of these posts. It's a revival, I guess.
