As I'm getting my outfit dialed in more I had an issue I wanted to solve. My RTT (Roofnest Falcon) has exposed bolt heads lining the floor. These bolt heads hold the factory mounting rails. I also have added some bolts to better line up with my rack and to use an alternative mounting solution. The bolts weren't originally visible, and the mattress certainly covered it. However, that original mattress had to go. So I replaced it with an inflatable memory foam option.
The issues I was trying to solve was 1) I didnt want to feel a bolt head in my shoulder at 3am. 2) I didnt want the inflatable mattress rubbing on those bolts heads.
My solution was to line the floor with RaceDeck flow-through floor tiles. This option keeps my floor "above" those bolts, and it maintains airflow for condensation, etc (I also tossed the anti condensation mat that came with the tent, mostly for the "dont want to feel a bolt in the shoulder" reason I mentioned.
I drilled out the flooring where a bolt head was so everything is still accessible and to stop the floor from going "clickity clack." The results are pictured.
