Soft top

Hello, I just purchased a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. I want to purchase a soft top for it and found a used one but I’m not sure it will fit. Here’s the description of it…

“SOFT TOP ONLY FOR SALE. Up for sale is an official Mopar/Jeep branded soft top for the Jeep Wrangler JL Unlimited. Rare to find the tan colour. Looks really sharp on certain colour Jeeps. Top is in great shape and comes with all accessories and hardware needed. Selling as we no longer have the Jeep.”

will this soft top fit my rubicon? The seller and mine are both 4 doors.

yeah, that’ll work. would be best to bring someone familiar with the hardware or facetime a friend when picking it up. not having the correct hardware shouldn’t really be an issue however if the jeep was sold.

pretty good advice here. installing is very easy but i could see it being awkward the first time.

I agree with the seller that the Tan soft top looks pretty good on some color Jeeps.

The corollary to this is that some think it doesn't look so good on other color Jeeps, whereas a black colored top is more universally paired I think with any color, not necessary looking better with one color and worse with another.

See if it's your cup of tea: I think it looks awesome on dark green Jeeps myself, and maybe not as good looking on Gray Jeeps, but, of course, it's a personal thing.

Yes, especially since it's tan.
Tan isn't an offered color anymore. Bestop sells replacement windows, last I checked.
If you end up not liking it, you have a "rare" read: an unattainable tan soft top that you can just resell yourself.

I bought a NIB tan soft top last year off a forum member for less than that. They are hard to find, but that is a pretty high price in my view.

Also, at that price it should be the premium twill version. I don’t actually know if they made both versions in tan, so maybe somebody else can weigh in on that.

If it was a NIB top, I'd say $1500 is okay. Used in good condition... if they're flexible on the price, I'd offer $1200 and see if they bite.

I'd also take a look at a video like this one, not simply so that you know how to install the product should you buy it (used,) but so that you can be made aware at the time of sale what parts, if any, might be missing:

If you go for it, make sure to have a full checklist of what parts are needed.
It would have been very easy for the seller to forget some in the old Jeep and not even know.. ie the JK there was a connector piece that attached to the roll bar that someone may not have though to remove and include (not sure about JL).
I see these come up (in black) for less NIB on CL from time to time.
What about a new Bestop? I'm sure there's info on the forum about all of the aftermarket tops.

I sold one a few years ago and the guy drove his topless Jeep to pick it up. I helped him install it and off he went. That way he knew all the parts were there and learned how to install it.

I would say if you like it and you have the $$ - offer $1200. I got lucky and found a Bestop Supertop Ultra on Marketplace for $300 - looked like it was only used for a few weeks. The girl said she had a 4xe and was so frustrated with how much it was in the shop she sold it - but kept the top...but now it was just taking up space in her garage.

Look and see if you can download the parts list and make sure most of it is there - I did have to order a couple bolts from Bestop - but you want to make sure you have all the bows, the front and rear doorframes, the corner caps and the lift gate bow. (all 3 windows too)

Aside from that - most parts can be picked up from Mopar or Bestop - but at $1200 - I would want it all there... for $300 - I figured I could replace a few things if I had to.
