I’ve seen that spot on the 2 door. Haven’t tried to set it in there cause the retracted top sits there. Last week I was by myself and leaving an appointment when I decided to remove the tops and sides and put them between the front seats and rear seats and folded the rear seat up to make sure they stayed in place while driving home the 56 miles from the VA.

I got the amazon storage bag and it works great. If you put them in the bag correctly they fit behind the rear seat and are out of the way.

For those that store your windows behind the back seat, what do you do with the support bar at the bottom of the rear window? Currently, I leave it attached to the rear window and just put all 3 in my storage bag and store them in my shed. That's mostly because the bar is wider than the available space in the cargo area. If I remove the bar from the rear window and clip it back in place above the tailgate, will the retracted top be enough to keep it from coming loose while driving?
If I bring it with me, I click the bar back into place (with a good tug to make sure it's secure) and the retracted roof is over it.
Fwiw, I set that bar on the ground, resting against the inner hinge of the tailgate, while I am removing the top so it doesn't get lost, misplaced, or forgotten during the process. I've found it to be a reliable strategy

Thanks for the link. Does this one fit behind the seats when they're upright? (And top retracted)
Yeah it does just have to remove the rear window bar from the window and put it back in place, then they can bend around and fit in the back "cargo" area

Thanks y’all! Do/have any of you remove(d) the soft top completely off the roll cage?
Yes.

Removing and later reinstalling the door surrounds, and everything else, in order to mimic the look when a hardtop is removed, is no small task. Now, I'll just remove the window panels, lower the top and call it a day.

Nice! I really should take better care of my windows, and it's good to have options :)
It seems like the bag I have has thick rigid sides and wouldn't fit back there

The only hard parts on this bag are the side tubes where the cab corners fit in. the rest is nylon with some soft felt like dividers in between the panels. I got the bag cause I pulled the windows out and laid them with a towel in between them but they got so hot the window portion deformed and took like a week of Ga sun to flatten back out. 😅

Where are you storing your windows when you don’t have them on? I have taken my top down a few times in the wild after some rain when the sun was shining and kept them in my rear seat and they got scratched up. If i take them off at home I just set them on the work bench cause I don’t have a storage for them yet so what are you guys using!? And how do you keep them if you sporadically take them off not at the house?
I plan on doing a writeup on my build and talk about this, but this was an issue for me that deterred me from soft top originally, but i ended up finding one on FB marketplace for $300 and couldn't pass it up, so it forced me to figure out a way to store my windows. this has been a game changer for me. i got it as a non professional looking setup using old tshirts, and some hooks i had lying around, but i wanted to prove it to work good before buying something that looks more legit.

I took these pics after getting everything all dusty on dirt roads, but it shows the process.
1. pop out the side window on the driver side, 2. undo back window on passenger side, 3. slide out rear window. 4. put rear window in upside down and hook first tshirt to back seat. 5 remove driver window and put in upside down and hook next tshirt to back seat. 6 remove passenger window and hook next tshirt to back seat. 7. now all windows are strapped to back seat within a couple minutes and the tshrits support them from folding and drooping down. 8. to drop top, i have to hold the corners in against the backseat so top will go all the way down, 9. lock the top in the down position, 10, i got some velcro that i attach to keep top secure in down postion.

now i keep windows protected, i still got my backseat, and it doesnt really take any room in the truck, i put my tool bag and some other small stuff back there still.

Nice. Now I feel like I got robbed buying one off fb marketplace for $50 lol
Ha, that Amazon one looks exactly like the one factory one that came with my 2024 Willys and cost me $75! The rear windows fit in this bag really well and with a little patience, the bag fits behind the rear seat of a 2 door. I even have room left over for a pair of Bestop fabric half doors. The bag also works well to hang/store the windows in my garage when I do not need to take them with me. As far as scratches go, there is a big difference between scratches from branches and the blurry haze you get from dirty windows rubbing together when stashed loose behind the rear seat. Whatever way you go, having the windows out and the top down on a nice day is the best.

We had the windows wrapped inside and out so no scratches.
