I was traveling for work and witnessed a colleague trying to fit a s-ton of luggage in their JLU wrangler and was struggling because the “glass” portion doesn’t lift up like the hard top does. They had to fit everything through the lower portion. Has anyone found this limitation to be a problem?

Second question: is there any significant difference between the premium twill soft tops from Bestop vs Mopar that might make someone choose one over the other?
Tx ✌?

Idk why he had that issue. All you need to do is unhook the window at the corners and sides and it and the bar it's attached to can flip up onto the top. And no difference between Mopar and Bestop - Bestop actually make the Mopar tops too.

For me, if we are loading groceries or a couple suitcases in the back it’s not really an issue but you may need to kinda duck under the bar to tuck things back. If you are putting something larger back there you can pop the lower support out and “untuck” the sides of the window to allow a larger opening. Then just tuck everything back in and drive. Not as easy as flipping up the hard top window by definitely easily managed once you get used to it.

Huh interesting. She is a relatively new Jeep owner so may not have figured out how it works. Thanks!

I'm often occupied, by many things, often at the same time
As stated, you just undo the sides and flip it up over the top, open all the way. It takes longer to cough or fart than to fully open the soft top rear window.

What kind of tuberculosis cough and IBS farts do you do?

Like, I'm a new grandpa so I have some good 2 or 3 foot farts but I'm quite sure none are longer than getting out, walking to the rear and moving the window. ;)

Regarding the Mopar top, it’s several hundred dollars less on Mopar website, when compared to same top sold by Quadratec. Why would one pay more to Quadratec for the same top?

As stated it’s very easy to flip the rear window up…..but…in defence of your friend…caution should be used if it is very cold as it could crack the plastic window.

Can't say I have ever heard of a soft top window cracking from the cold. I ran my JK one through a few winters with multiple sub -30° C throughout.

I mean maybe if someone is dumb enough to hit it with something but I still haven't seen it.
