Let's accept the premise that I wish to run my dual AGM battery 3.6L JL with the dual AGM factory battery configuration.
My Aux 14 battery, an AC Delco I purchased mid June, seems to be defective. Having electrically isolated it from the vehicle and pulled Fuse 42, and attempted to charge only it, not also the main battery, load testing the Aux 14 in isolation suggests that it is bad: i.e. not capable of holding charge.
I charged my main battery independently as well, an Odyssey group 97, also installed at the same mid June time as the Aux 14 mentioned prior. I load tested it afterwards, in isolation, and it's strong.
So, given the recency of replacement of the batteries, and what seems to be the lack of cannibalization of the main battery by the Aux 14, and my separating them for now, do you think I could just introduce a new Aux 14 battery, reconnect the batteries again, and call it a day?
Ok, sure, it's no better time to turn ESS off and run on one battery, I know. Unfortunately that's not my call to make. And yes, although my last ACDelco Aux 14 ran fine, my next Aux 14 will be an Odyssey brand.
