Any suggestions on magnetic mount side view mirrors for the times I take my doors off?
Theres not much steel for a magnetic mount.

Theres a number of kits that mount in the top door hinge. I have the triangulated "vibration free" kit ($40 on amazon for 2) to replace the screw on plastic mirror I had for my JK I got at auto zone for $10 years ago (it could mount across two windshield bracket bolts on the JK....but only one on the JL, so its spins in the wind).

I'm hoping someone comes out with a carbon fiber dash board. I think that'll look cool!

Does flipping the rear view mirror interfere with putting the windshield down with the new roll cage?
Not at all. The mirror is mounted right to the "roll cage". It stays put when you fold the windshield.

Anyone looking at using Xpel for the 4 doors to minimize scratching when going through the weeds. Has anyone used this stuff and is it affective.
I have been researching this for a while and want to do this as soon as possible before I have to clay bar off bugs and trail grime. I talked with a local shop today that seemed flexible about selling me XPEL film so I could do the easy items like doors and they could do the hard things like the grill. Worth considering.

I'm also looking into pre-cut kits and maybe taking it on myself. Looks like about $1k in films pre-cut but I've only found one place that offers that so far.

Full discussion from a while back over here...

I just came across the anti-vibration one on Amazon that you mentioned. I also came across a Permanent Sideview Mirror replacement with LED lights and amber turn signal for $75 by TERRAIN VISION. Pretty

We tried this stuff at SEMA and it was really user-friendly. That's how I am planning to do mine. Just haven't settled on a color yet...

I don't have my Jeep, so I don't have any clue what the flip does to the space available.. sorry!

So far I've put on a new bumper and winch, door sill guards, a Hothead Headliner, floor liners, hammock, foot pegs and mirrors for when the doors are off, cover, tailgate table, a small vinyl graphic, sun shade for the front and I think that's about it.

Still waiting for mine, hopefully taking delivery before the end of May. A few minor mods planned for my Sport S right off the bat:
  • Remove the Euro Splash Guards from the front bumper
  • Black Mopar Door Sill Guards
  • N-Fab Nerf Steps
  • Plasti-Dip the chrome Jeep Logos
  • Build a shelf in the garage to help with hardtop removal and storage

Rock Rails like ACE, to protect from door dings and ease of entry (for those vertically challenged family members :cwl:.)

Remove ALL dealer badging.

Stickers, stickers, stickers!

Also going to look at wrapping the red dash something OTHER than red!!

I did this on the JK I had. Since the mirror has its mount on the very top of the mirror assembly, flipping it stuffs the mirror up into the top of the frame, giving you a few extra inches of visibility. I had completely forgot I did this until I saw this post.

I immediately replaced the Sport S street donuts with 33" KO2's, removed the air dam, put on a smaller flexible antenna, and added Rigid long range cubes to the A-pillar. The only other things Id really like to do are add a set of Rubi sliders, and maybe a winch (with an associated bumper). The factory low/ hi/ fog lights actually work VERY well for halogen, so adding any more lights other than the Side Shooters won't do much other than make my jeep look like a brodozer. (since I wheel in the dense forests of norther MI)

What antenna is that? Link? I may want to replace the stock one but definitely still want good radio reception.

Off the shelf at Auto Zone, $13 I think. The base is flexible rubber with a spiral wire wrapped around a glass rod under shrink tube. I don't use FM at all anymore, but when I tested it it was still picking up Detroit and Toledo stations clearly from Monroe. The only AM I listen to is WJR....and thats a monster powerhouse, so of course it came in clear. The real test is to see how long it holds a station north of Pinconning....which I won't be able to do until memorial day.

Haven't done them yet. I have a TitanII vinyl cutter, so I can make whatever I want (if I am talented enough to weed it! LOL). I know I want to replace the Rubicon hood lettering, and make a new hood decal. Any of the Jeep stickers I decide to keep, I'll redo in reflective black. I have a windshield banner that I never put on my JKU that I want to add (upside down: If you can read this... don't call my husband!) and I want to replicate the "This is NOT my husband's Jeep!!!" sticker that was bought for me before I got my own cutter...

Oh, the possibilities!
