If you go this route. Use code jlwranglerforum on checkout or for anything at Northridge.

As for the ARB stuff from them. I ordered my sliders from Northridge that said would ship in 30 days. It arrived via freight a week later direct from ARB.
Thanks, good to know! I might stretch the budget but I won’t be hiking it up anywhere near the 2k elevation.

ps - how much of a discount does that get? There’s always more stuff to buy.

Discount depends on manufacturer. Normally in the 5-15% range.

As @GATORB8 pointed out, it depends. But it’s also been decent and no need to wait for sales. As it’s always been close enough (when they have sales, you can’t combine the code). Some stuff you won’t get a discount on anywhere, such as AEV.

But here’s an example.

I’m not a rock crawler (yet?) but I do try to keep my options open and definitely don’t want to put stuff under there that’s just going to snag or break. I noticed the disconnect but wasn’t sure how much was still left exposed and and how badly, I should likely take your advice and mount something to the frame.
Sliders are by far the most important protection you can buy for your rig. It changes the game when you’re not afraid to drag the sliders. They also protect from pivoting around a tree.

That doesn’t mean you have to spend a boatload, I have the same $400 Westins Triple Tubes as mentioned earlier, and their holding up to some severe punishment.

My ARB Sliders combined with Metalcloak skids provides a lot of confidence. I don’t feel I need as much lift because I am worried about smacking something expensive that could be damaged... But these two things, combined with bumpers and other stuff. My suspension is pretty heavily compressed and lost some ground clearance due to weight.

I have been looking at slider/steps for a bit now. I have kids that could use the steps and I need the sliders because I want to protect the body. I was looking at these - https://www.4wheelparts.com/p/fishbone-offroad-step-sliders-fb23083/_/R-FBXOR-FB23083
There is a comment in there and pic with the factory sliders still on. I'm not too sure why, maybe just for looks but here ya go.
Best of luck in your search. Enjoy what we have in CO.

Those sliders look good, can’t say the same for the sliders + rubi rails, yikes. I’ll be in Colorado Springs for a week for a family reunion. Hopefully, I will accidentally get lost from the group at some point!

@GATORB8
Those Westins are nice looking, similar to the EAGs referenced earlier in this thread. I’m liking the triple tube designs.

Thanks, I forgot about the hide-a-step, that’s somewhat appealing, one drawback seems to be that they would really take some hard hits from rocks, have you heard anything about that part?
I installed these Barricades on my 2019 Rubi with my factory rails. I wanted to keep my factory rails and wanted a step for the wife. They are pretty stout and protect really well. I have rubbed them a few times off-road with no issues. They also have a really nice and thick protective coating.

I added these Rough Country step rails to the factory rails by drilling and tapping the factory rails for the inboard bolts. I got rid of the pinch weld bracket and had to fab a front mount because it needed to drop about two inches on the outboard bolts.

If I'm heading to somewhere with rocks, just 4 bolts each side and the steps are off.
