On Monday, as I was driving to work, I noticed that there was a gap between my top and the rails on my passenger side. I immediately contacted my dealership they claimed that the extended warranty I purchased with the used vehicle did not cover it after they diagnosed it. I contacted Chrysler and made a case about it they promised to get in touch with me within one to two days. The dealership is suggesting a new roof. The jeep had 46,000 miles when I bought it. The dealership also stated that there was no way of tightening anything on the SOT. Below will include picture of the problem also what the dealership recommends doing. I am wondering what else could I do to solve this problem. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Its a known issue with some tops. There are threads on here on how to fix I think. BUT, it is factory installed so I would talk to your warranty company. Also, do a search for the threads on how to RESET your SOT. I installed my SOT myself, went from hardtop to SOT. I did the reset and it worked.

I got the 4 star extended warranty from MAP. It doesn’t cover it. They do have optional coverage but it’s an add-on fee which I didn’t get.

Hello...you mentioned you installed your SOT yourself. I am considering doing the same thing. I have a 2022 Sahara (Stingray) and wondering where you found your SOT. Do you have any sources to recommend? They seem like they are hard to find. Thanks!

Easy answer.....stay away from SOT. Tried and true freedom top and panels, all day.

Thank you. I’m not getting messages or errors. I can push the button and release and it opens/closes fine. I guess this is not an issue for mine (yet).
