There is my Jeep with the factory LT285/70R17 tires. I haven't done any off-roading yet but would like to experience some of the Jeep trails near me which are mostly rated easy. I would like to go a bit bigger and am looking for recommendations (tire, size, wheel size, lift kit, leveling kit, etc.) that won't cost too much $$$. Since I will not be doing a lot of off-roading, this would be mostly for how my Jeep looks, but would also have a functional purpose for some light off-road.

if you are going to say the words “not going to Cost too much” and no plans on doing any serious wheeling then just go up to 35’s and call it a day. Just my opinion though. I don’t do any serious wheeling mostly just trails and stock gets the job done in what I use the jeep for which is daily driving and camping.
But you do you make the jeep look how you want it.

You dont need larger tires you will waste your money.

That said just go to a 315/75 (35") and call it a day.

But again @Juice7598 you will just be throwing money in the trash if you are replacing your tires if they dont need to be replaced. A stock Rubicon (even the long school bus 4 door) Will handle those easy rated trails. Go out and drive them first before you throw money at the Jeep that you dont need to.

That makes sense, but I'm also considering bigger tires for aesthetics too, just something I'm considering. Thanks again

And thats a perfectly valid reason to replace them, and you can get some money back for your stock take off tires as well. I just hate seeing people throw good money after bad because they think they need 37s and 5" of lift to go do some off roading.

Would I need a leveling or lift kit?
No. 35s will rub the plastic in the rear fenders at full flex but is ok on a JLU Rubicon for moderate trails. The only thing you will need to do is adjust the brake light to be taller on your tire carrier to clear the 35" tire and get a programmer (Tazer JL mini) to program your Jeep to the new tire size.
