When I tried connecting to one channel for my amp it made the sub work, but when I turned the volume up the sub popped and the amp shut down. I had to then connect both channels and it works fine properly now. Maybe I messed something up. Maybe @lashlee or @Nater34 can provide some clarity regarding this?

Have you turned the volume up and everything works fine?
If the sub is popping, it could be a few things. It could be because the load placed on the amp is too low, or it could be that the sub is a DVC or QVC and the cone is shifting from the load on one coil and rubbing against the motor. The amp will generally shut down based on too low of a load or high temperature.

Not sure, I had Best Buy do the install. No issues with under seat sub overheating or poor performance. It’s like this thing was made for the Jeep. I think a guy in an online YouTube review even said exactly that. Zero complaints whatsoever. I even mounted the separate bass control knob to the front of the center console (just above ebrake handle) - perfect spot.
This option is almost exactly what I've been looking for. I don't want to compromise space, but I need some more kick, particularly bass! Can you confirm a few things for me? Did you upgrade your speakers? If so, did you need to power them? Does the amp on the kicker box power just the subwoofer? Thanks!

Yes, upgraded front dash and soundbar speakers with higher sensitivity kickers. And yes, amp in kicker HS10 is only for the self powered sub. Doing these was cost effective and everything I was looking for. ?

This is exactly how I added my JL audio powered sub.. I also upgraded dash with infinity tweeters and replaced sound bar with infinity 6.5’s. The sound is amazing. I did run a sub volume controller to the front to +/- bass on the fly.

funny I was actually going to ask what you guys set your stuff to! I just but gain up a lil and left other stuff alone and set knob to middle. I have no idea!

Nice! I just added a sub too. Jeeps definitely need it. Even those with the Alpine system apparently. I added the Kicker P300-12. VERY happy with the results. Easy install too! Tapped into the speaker wires in the B-Pilar. This sub setup didn't require a remote wire, it used the speaker signal as the remote which made things even easier 🍻 (I'll be strapping it down vs using brackets)
