I installed bushwhacker fenders and led turn signals a while back. The turned signals work as I expected. I was running a diagnostic for another issue and got the following two codes -

B17C1-11 and B17BC-11. RIGHT AND LEFT sidemarker lamp control circuit short to ground.

I’m guessing that since the LEDs don’t have a side marker the Jeep is throwing this code, and it’s not actually an issue. Anyone have a similar experience when installing these types of light?

Thoughts on using JScan to deactivate side marker lights?

I have not done this yet. Anyone have thoughts on whether that would be a good plan?

Well I’m answering my own questions today. Deactivated the side markers and everything still woks as expected, those codes are now gone. Now I just have to chase down a pesky C0175-74 code on the ABS

I have no personal experience with swapping out factory lights and/or using JScan LED settings, but (since @Terrymo challenged me)...

From JScan docs, LED Lights / Indicator setup section:
'search for adaptations with the word “diagnostic” or “DTC” and disable to disable the persistent trouble code (only in newer vehciles)'

ADAPTATION -> LED lights settings -> Front Turn Lamp Diagnostics Present On/Off

[NOTE: the above setting appears to be required in addition to the Lamps Present settings]

Also...

ADAPTATION -> LED lights settings -> Front Left Lamp Diagnostics Present On/Off
ADAPTATION -> LED lights settings -> Front Right Lamp Diagnostics Present On/Off

I couldn't find much info about the Bushwhacker fenders and the JScan naming scheme is a little funky, so I'm not sure which lights are throwing the codes.

Thanks! I will give that a try. Finally found my parasitic drains on fuse 31 and 105, just need to figure. Out what is sucking a bit of power. I think on 105 it’s my LasFit aux switches and NoLimit.. for about 10mA. Then I have 20 to t60 bouncing around on the fuse 31 obd port, so that will require further investigation. I think I only have the start stop eliminator there, as I isolated the dash cam. Anyway. As usual😎, I value your input.
