Im sorry if Im in the wrong place - my Bella Blue is a 2010 Jeep Wrangler Sport Unlimited - American Flag Blue !! and she is a plain jane, just like me!! She is my best friend and sadly in 13yrs I never even thought about the side marker lights! Im an old lady so dont judge please!! I changed my fog lights and directionals and tail/brake light bulbs and then noticed the side markers - Hmmm LOL nope not reflectors! ugh anyway I have the new bulbs and replaced one on passenger side BUT the driver side broke off - so of course I get pliers and try to get it out but the glass is so thin it just crumbled - now I have no clue how to get the rest out so I can replace with a new one. Can anyone help me? It seems like there is a spot to stick a tiny flathead screwdriver but Im afraid of causing damage since I have no clue what Im doing! I know its a little thing but I love my Jeep and want her to look beautiful all the way around! Thanks for listening!

Is this the type of bulb? They are used on every type of vehicle, and including new model Jeeps. So a fair question.

They can be difficult if they break, but you will get it out. The first go might be with some dental tools or small sharp picks. Go in on the (narrow) sides and alternately pry and rock the bulb base side to side, lifting as much as you can.
I expect success, but if the bulb conspires against you, check back in and we'll go to plan b :)

I've heard of potatoes being used to remove an old fashioned "household" lightbulbs which broke while in place. (They might need to have those metal bases and/or "twistable" threads for it to work, though.)

Good show on the removal! ?

Maybe a quick check of the fuse? Mushed bulbs will often blow one -

Oooh! Never thought of the fuses!! LOL OK I'll see if I can find them and check as soon as I can get away from my desk. I really appreciate your helping me - I know these are lame questions - but I always had a mechanic I could trust - then I moved to FL and have no one - trust no one! So Im trying!! Starting small tho! Be careful, I have a TON of questions :0) Thanks! I'll be back as soon as I check the fuses!

Thanks - I saw that on google too - I think it has to be a bigger bulb like are regular light bulb - wont work with these cause they dont screw in anyway. But thanks!

Awesome! I did find it - fuse looks fine - I tried again and passenger side works, drivers side ..... must have a bad connection - I can get it to come on but any movement and it goes out again. One of the guys at work was messing with it - (I dont like anyone touching my Jeep UGH!) but they finally had to go to a meeting so I wiggled it until it came on and got it screwed back into place - Id imagine first bump in the road it will go out - but thats ok for now at least I know. I cant thank you enough! You taught me a lot of little things that to me are big things! Wanted to swap out my headlights but Im afraid too LOL - I know the front grill has to come off - she is 13 yrs old - I dont want to mess with it, lots of rust from being in NYS all her life (salt)- maybe I'll wait til I have no other choice!! And hopefully you'll be around when I have more questions as I find my way around Bella Blue. (Thanks for not laughing at my small issues!!) Now I have to figure out whats wrong with my front end but FIRST - gotta get her new shoes and aligned then I'll be back for y'alls expertise!!
Bless you!!! God Speed! Stay Safe!!!
